I think many stackers here will approve: Andreas Antonopulous
Even that now he's quite shitcoiner supporting ETH and shit, he' still remain a very good pioneer into Bitcoin education.
I wish were more OGs out there like @jimmysong and @petertodd and many more having presentations like Andreas, but they kept a quiet low profile during the early years.
But anyways... my 1st encounter with Bitcoin and WHO convinced me wasn't Andreas, but my old friend Obi Wan Kenobi... see my bio for more details.

i agree. after understanding bitcoin with more recent voices and authors, i went back to Andreas 2013-2016 talks.. before all the noise his message was already so powerful and captivating

Yes, before all the noise and inflooencers and 'crypto' - he was clearly and slowly teaching people.
Agree. He's legit the OG! But he wasn't the person who was the first catalyst though for me

Nice! Yeah he's good!

No way! That is how you found out about Bitcoin!? That's an amazing story!

Lol, I used to work at that bank, I looked up "bitcoin" on the bank computer and showed a couple of co-workers. They immediately dismissed it as a scam......which confused me, because they didn't know what it was and we'd just seen someone with extreme conviction.

I don't think I have an original catalyst since it was more about curiosity and having a need to pay for something in bitcoin.
Andreas opened my eyes a little bit to the potential, but the one who really got me to think deeply on the subject was Robert Breedlove. It was that interview on Lex's podcast 3 years ago that worked in monetary history and Austrian economics, and just got me thinking of how broken our current system really was. Then getting Saylor to ramble for hours was my first look at a legit Rabbit Hole (someone else's journey). Even though Breedlove really didn't say much in that series, I think that it was just the quality and pace of new content that kept on scratching that itch. Sure maxis shit on both those guys but it's hard to argue that they haven't exposed large numbers of people to bitcoin and the fiat scam.
I still listen to the WiM pod maybe once a week. He's a lot more interesting when he's being interviewed. Check out WiM365 from last week. Absolutely crushed it.

Linus Tech Tips made a video on mining around 2014.
Did some research and bought an Antminer S3 and ran it nonstop for 3 years.

I got introduced to bitcoin by a scammer. Obviously I did not this about him. Anyway I lost the money and I did not give up on studying this industry. Later on my journey I found out how to buy and hold securely. I made it on my own. I do not want to sound self fish but I wanna thank me šŸ™ Cheers,

Andreas Antonopulous helped me understand the basic premise in the beginning. I became a freak after a few bear markets. Shoutout to Marty Bent and Matt Odell.
