The reward system of Fountain is trailing off ergo a decline in usability. I believe if they can adopt @SN reward based formula they can push for some serious engagement on their platform. SN is already on a high with this formula. Fountain is a great project I believe can topple the likes of Spotify in podcasting.

You can just give one-time boosts to the creators then.

You are correct, I think. However, we're a little ways off from that being a real YouTube alternative. I'd love to see it take off.

And also, as everything in bitcoin space: needs more adoption, i.e. creators and users. I'm using it daily to stream some NoGood radio, so I'm doing my part 😅

I agree that the Stacker News rewards setup is much better than the slightly random rewards on Fountain - as I say in the above post as soon as Fountain 1.0 is ready we will look at the earning rewards again.

Exactly. Fountain rewards are really about seeding sats to users so they can give them to podcasters.
SN is similar. If you add value you get value back. Its not about milking value from the site.

I'm not sure what you have in mind exactly, but I agree Fountain has a lot of room for improvement and could potentially develop really good engagement.

I know Oscar was nice enough to provide feedback to many of us last week, but my app has been crashing for over a month. So basically about one day a week the app actually works. Hopefully it works again soon. I’ve basically given up at this point as the app won’t even let me submit a support ticket anymore.
I had to give up on Fountain finally. Nothing to do with the rewards. If anything I was a net booster. But the bugs just got too much.
You can't pay for premium with LN , that should change too.
The difference is fountain is only a client for rss podcasting 2.0
