I find it utterly hilarious that Claudine Gay was able to plagiarize her way into being president of Harvard lol. It's impressive to the point that I can respect the hustle.
reply
I get where you're coming from, but I think it's incorrect to assume she pulled one over on Harvard.
Rather, this is a case of the diversity grift that elite institutions are in on. They know that academic fraud is rampant in the nonsense disciplines and they look the other way because it serves their diversity goals.
reply
Yes but she had to know she was plagiarizing throughout her career... that had to give her a little giggle of guilt inside as she continued to get promoted.
reply
It might have, but I think it might be normalized enough that she knew nobody cared.

Spent some time writing down everything I need to maintain a healthy life ( surprisingly not much ) so the cheat code is slowly leveling up / crafting each of them instead of constantly being told what I need, then I don't pay attention to the things I don't need:)!

it's a journey, and I really like it: exploring around to see what's possible ( once you taste the good, you can't go back to the bad! ), then testing and blending things together - you really need to think about what you actually WANT during this process; and there are so many fascinating things behind how each product is made, that's something being taken away from us since the massive produce industrial revolution.

The mute list on nostr. Apparently it's public if snort shows it? But it's empty? So not sure if it's a bug or working as intended.
Need to check the NIP for mutes.

GM everyone!! It's Tuesday already and a whole new year of purpose, profit and success. Just set yourself a long term goal and divide it into smaller ones, you've got this, let's give this year a good one, let's show this 2024 what we're made of, I believe in you my good friend. I'm relaxing still since I'm not going back to work until the 4th, so two more days of vacation, my second job is on standby since most of my clients are on vacation as well, so I'm using this time for me to enjoy with the missus and relax, enjoying a nice hot cup of java and prolly do some chores just to get things over and done with. I wish you all a phenomenal day, may it be filled with purpose and success. You're awesome and don't forget it!! As always, be well and stay frosty!

Relevant saying in German: "Du bist was du isst."
“ Cell-grown meat is slaughter-free and has been touted as a way to reduce emissions, but current production ain’t cheap (cultured beef costs $17/lb). Plus, it could take a while for consumers to overcome the “ick” factor (Italy banned the meat last year). But if lab-grown startups can scale production and nail the marketing, it might fly. The industry was worth ~$250M in 2022 and is projected to hit $25B by 2030.”

Really $25B market by 2030? These guys should take a look at beyond meat stock price!!

I haven't looked into it much but I don't see how you can sustainably grow large quantities of meat without an "immune system" to keep the food sterile and not getting spoiled. I guess a lot of antibiotics?

Major ick factor but why buy more expensive lab grown meat when real meat is cheaper
reply
0 sats \ 0 replies \ @gmd 2 Jan
I would eat it if they could get the costs down and it actually tasted good. I doubt that's achievable though. I'm the furthest thing from a vegan but I can empathize with avoiding / reducing animal suffering.

Decided to take a more sustainable approach and focus on quality over quantity. We’ll still get through the list and likely in a similar order, but just not going to burn myself out in the process lol.

rereading @Darthcoin 's hack to live a young life
I am also almost 60, but I live like I am in my 30-35. How is that possible?
  • out of big cities
  • eat mostly your own grown food, not processed
  • no stress, clear your mind with long walks into the nature
  • work outside at least 1h/day (even if you have a desk job). Having a vegetables >garden helps you a lot. Or some chickens.
  • spend less on crap things, calculate well your income and spending.
  • do not go to a "medic" because "you feel bad". Treat yourself with old natural remedies and drink clean water. Mountain spring water is the best cure you could ever get. And herbs. I have at least 25 years that I never went to a doctor. And was not "sick" at all.
  • NEVER listen or do what a gov says. Only opposite. Always. ( my fav part )
Now I am building my own citadel, with my own bare hands, deep into a mountain valley. To be almost self sufficient and live in peace. And will be a Bitcoin "retreat", a monument dedicated to Bitcoin and free world. I don't know how much time will take, it doesn't matter. I still have at least 50 years more to live and enough to build it. So I decided to dedicate my time to Bitcoin and my citadel. Not doing anything else more. And when will be ready, maybe I will put a 24/7 webcam and people see me and/ or ask me questions about Bitcoin, live, in real time.

sharing my territories muting strategy
currently 6 left for me ( the topics really matter to me ) but I subscribe to some interesting stackers so I won't miss their posts in any territories - trying to read everything might end up reading nothing, how little time we have on our hands each day.
How to Subscribe to Interesting Brains? go to any stacker's page that you find interesting, click the three dots - subscribe to their posts, even comments ( but subscribing to comments could be overwhelming, better just go to their pages to read from time to time )
and occasionally, I would use a new browser to read posts, just to see if there is anything stir my curiosity.

A husband and wife had a big argument. Frustrated and fed up, the wife called up her mom and said, "We fought again, I can't do this anymore. I am coming to live with you."
Mom said, "No darling, he must pay for his mistake. I am coming to live with you."
