Am I right that you cannot use Wallet of Satoshi is the US?
If so, what would be the MOST simple & easy lightning wallet for absolute non-techy beginners please?

The SN wallet right here is pretty good, though you have to trust the crew at the top. They seem okay so far.
Depending on your purposes, Alby is okay too.
Later you will progress to self custody.
Thank you! It's for friends. They're not on SN. They don't have any btc (yet). I want to send them some sats to gently prod. But it needs to be suuuuuper easy. WoS is pretty much that (although I know it's custodial) but don't know if they're allowed to use that in the US. Sorry, I'm not up to speed with what US folks are using.
Is Alby easy to use/install/understand for total noobs?
Yes it is. You are correct about WOS. It's no longer available in the US.
Just use a VPN and Aurora Store
I managed to use Alby and I'm an idiot.
haha I'm sure that's definitely not true!
Phoenix is very straightforward.
I strongly suggest to read these guides:
and more guides - see my SN user bio
thank you @DarthCoin for all these links! I actually found your substack the other day. I need to go back in there and subscribe to you!
The substack is free. Bitcoin education must be free.
You don't need to subscribe if is not necessary, you can just bookmark it.
All my guides are also announced in this dedicated Telegram channel for those who do not want to put an email in substack to receive updates.
Nice! thanks again, I've joined the TG channel
I think AQUA is pretty simple and offers nice features normies may appreciate (ie. they can swap either LN / BTC to Liquid for USDt)
Thank you!
Also want to throw in https://coinos.io/ for newbie simplicity. Obviously custodial but I like when there’s little to no friction and then people upgrade to self custody.
Cashapp, Strike
@btcsessions recently did a video on Coinos that’s worth checking out
view on youtu.beI agree with @siggy47 SN is great option
I have not personally used it but https://coinos.io/ appears to be a custodian wallet that should be easy.
Here is a break down of wallets, once the user wants to take the next step towards non-custodian.

Thank you!
Blixt, Phoenix and Green are excellent options
thank you!

Speed Wallet.

I make no claims other than I've used it a couple of times over the past week, it seemed fine. It's custodial. But maybe even better for a beginner would be using Wallet of Satoshi, with a vpn, as in an earlier comment.
I would not consider Phoenix beginner friendly, or very straightforward. Either that, or I'm a dummy. Receiving is a pain. Yes, I've looked at the FAQ and emailed support.
In terms of Alby - is that even possible, on a phone? Also last I heard, they had some new restrictions on some things (total amount you can store, number of transactions, etc).
Phoenix
Alby's worked well for me. Integration with Nostr is really nice for those quick zaps and of course you can easily Stacker-pill them from there as well.
I'm using the Muun wallet, which supports both Lightning and Bitcoin Network. The fees for the Lightning Network are very slow. It's a very easy wallet to use and works pretty well. Since I don't live in the USA, I'm also using the Wallet of Satoshi.
But I would also know if there is any better option to use.
You can read about Phoenix or blixt are excellent options... @DarthCoin guides can help you I encourage you to take a look
What about blue wallet?
