It's been about a month since I joined in on the 100 pushups a day until Bitcoin hits $100,000 USD trend. (I'm clarifying the currency for our international participants.)
For a little background, I was in a pretty epic bike crash a few years ago that really messed up my shoulder. Ever since, I've taken it pretty easy when exercising that shoulder, because it would get sore pretty easily. However, I've always loved random physical challenges, so I definitely wanted to give this a shot.
Out of caution, I decided to start out with 10 sets of 10 pushups, just to make sure my shoulder was up to the challenge. It was sore after the first day, but after a couple more days it felt a lot better, so I increased to 5 sets of 20 and then 4 sets of 25.
That's when I saw that people were adding other exercises into the mix. The squats made me surprisingly sore, so I went back to 5 x 20 for a few days. After about a week, I added calf-raises and went back to 4 x 25 (it was hard for me to keep track of 5 sets throughout the day and remember to do them all).
The big change came courtesy of @Nuttall, who was using a pyramid structure to get to 100: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. He rightly thought it was very cool that that series sums to 100. Now, I am definitely not capable of banging out that whole pyramid in one go. However, as a math nerd, I know that you can subdivide a triangle into four identical triangles. So, my modified pyramids were 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1 (which adds up to 25) and I did four per day until that became easy for me.
Going forward, I'm returning to the big pyramid, but I'll be breaking it up throughout the day. Yesterday, I split it into 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 (which is 28), 8-9-10 (which is 27), 9-8-7 (which is 24), and finally 6-5-4-3-2-1 (which is 21). I'm doing this because it will let me naturally climb the pyramid further as I get stronger and reduce the number of sessions I need to split it into.
After one month, my shoulder feels better than it had, my hip flexibility is improved, and I'm demonstrably getting stronger. I look forward to whatever is going to come of the next however-long-it-takes to get to $100k.

Great news! Thank you for the feedback! I need to get back into the program myself. I have been pushing working 7 days a week and it's kicked my ass so hard.
I'm not going to be able to ignore this. I was feeling pretty good, too.
Back to the bring. Back to the grind.

I will stick with my 4x25. I have a hard enough time keeping track of that let alone getting the subdivision of triangles involved.
Good to hear your shoulder is doing better. I had a similar issue with my knee years ago where I had a long standing knee issue that I had been favouring off and on for years but then during Covid I was working out a lot and doing goblet squats and bulgarian split squats routinely and my knee really nagged me especially on the split squats the first few sessions and then it got better and felt good for a couple years until I started skipping leg day again and it began to flare up.

How's your knee doing with the 100 squats?

I have writer's knees, so I can tell you how mine are doing after ~50 squats. 😬
But they that's what bones are for. They'll get stronger!

I did 40-40-20 for one day and then went back to 4x25. 4 sets fits better into my current routine because my dog gets 4 small meals per day as part of her prescription diet so I just do my set every time I feed the dog. It reminds me to get it done.

That makes sense to me.
The reason four sets gives me trouble is that I need to fit one in after work and before my daughter goes to bed. It isn't always convenient to fit that one in.
Three would be easy: one when I wake up, one during work, one after my daughter's asleep.

I have been keeping an eye out for a new contract job. I hardly worked all of last year and that did a number on my savings, plus I bought a lot of bitcoin, so I should work a bit more this year. If I get a job, I will likely switch to a 3 set structure where I do one set in morning, one set after working and one set at night before bed.

Apparently, you didn't buy enough bitcoin, considering it's more than doubled pretty recently.
Will you be able to work for bitcoin? Or, just whatever trash currency you all are using?

I never buy enough bitcoin. Every bear market is the same. But I am not going to sell so need to do some fiat work regardless.

Still on the 100+ push-ups daily! Just fit it in whenever I can find a floor. No excuses, sometimes my young boys join in!

I'm confused about the pyramids -- you mean you do 1 pushup, rest, then 2, rest, then 3 ... ?
And then the modified pyramids are that, but times 4?

No rest. It's 1 pushup, then 1 squat, then 1 calf raise, then 2 of each, and so on.

Nice work. I've been keeping up with it as well. 30 days in a row for me. Started with 10 x 10, and could barely do that. Now I'm at 4 x 25. Pretty amazing considering I had probably never done more than 10 at one time in my life before this.

That's awesome! I at least had the knowledge that I used to be able to do lots of pushups.
By the time we reach 100k you'll be a legit pushup master.
