We're having a wild finish to the regular season.
I did not have Denver falling to the 3rd seed on my bingo card. Is that going to make Phoenix and New Orleans avoid the 6th seed?
Now that all the seeding implications are clear, let's get our picks in.
@grayruby has already selected the Pacers.
I am going with the Cavaliers.
For reference, here is tomorrow's schedule along with odds for each matchup.
Here is the original post with the contest details #488380.

Prize

At least 5k sats, the current pot is at about 4k and growing,
Cavs are a good pick. They should beat the Hornets easily and your probably don't want to use them in the playoffs unless you absolutely have to.
reply
Can you believe last night's games?
Spurs beating Nuggets and Jazz beating Clippers, both on games that matter to seeding for the better team.
I'm still tempted to pick the Spurs for tomorrow, especially after their last night's performance.
But since it's single elimination, I'll play it safe and go with the Cavs. Cavaliers is my pick.
reply
There several other very near upsets, too.
Cavs, locked in. Hopefully you and I survive to the play-in.
reply
Last night's games were just wild. Not at all what I expected, but very fun to see!
reply
I was watching the end of the Denver game. You don't see defending champs lose on a 5-second inbounding violation very often.
reply
I was shocked by that play too. Not only the mistake was made by the defending champ, but the man making the mistake was their number 2 guy, with loads of high pressure situation experience, in Murray. It seemed like a desperation pass to get the ball into Joker's hands too, seeing as there were only 0.9 seconds left and pass was made to Joker when he was at almost half court. I know Joker does voodoo and had scored game winners from way out, but being down by one with so little time left, it might be a good idea to just get it to someone near the rim for a higher quality shot.

Tinfoil hat time:
Maybe the Nuggets wanted to avoid playing the Lakers in round 1, so they took the opportunity to throw the game.
reply
That is a very big and elaborate tinfoil hat.
I doubt Nuggets are afraid of the Lakers. They swept the Lakers in the WCF last playoffs and had beat them in all 3 meetings this season. They probably just got over confident with that big lead entering the second half and didn't expect the Spurs to fight back like that. I mean, who the heck would expect a rookie to score 17 points in 3 minutes against the Nuggets?
reply
Can I also choose cavs, if someone already chosen them?
My first pick is cavs okay.
reply
Yes. You just can't take the same team more than once, but you can pick a team that someone else has also picked.
Cavs locked in
reply
Thanks for the prompt answer. So, can we now widh each other for the Cavaliers win?
reply
Yep. Most of us are in the same boat.
reply
What about Celtics?
reply
You probably don't want to use them now. You can only use a team once.
They are the best team in the league so you are going to want to save them for later and their game tomorrow doesn't matter because they have already secured the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
reply
Can I participate in the contest now?
So far, I'm not so aware about the rules and also I couldn't get from the post.
reply
Can I participate in the contest now?
Absolutely!
You can pick any team you want to win their game, but you can only pick each team once throughout the contest. That's why grayruby suggests saving the Celtics until later.
Whoever makes it the longest without picking a losing team wins the grand prize, which is going to be at least 5k sats. I keep adding sats to the prize after each post.
Let me know if you have any questions.
reply
Spurs?
reply
That's a bold pick, but they are heavy favorites and it doesn't cost you a playoff team.
reply
Cavaliers for me too.
reply
Alright, three for the Cavs. I'm starting to get nervous.
reply
Why nervous instead be happy.
reply
I'll be happy when they win and we all survive.
reply
Are you happy now, lost because of you, 😲
But that's okay, I'm happy you're also out of the prize pool.😜
reply
There's a lesson in there about listening to random people on the internet.

This was not how I thought the season would end!
reply
I can't remember anything even close to this.
Are you going to participate? The more the merrier!
reply
Well, I'm going with the Thunders.
reply
Nice pick. I was giving them serious consideration.
reply
Thanks, I think they have a serious chance after seeing their play this year in the Western Conference :)
reply
You know this pick is only for tomorrow's games, right? You won't be able to pick the Thunder later on in the playoffs.
reply
Yes, I know
reply
Good, I realized that I wasn't explicit about that in this post.
reply
Kings here.
reply
Good pick. Kings have tiebreaker over Lakers. They need that win to have a chance at 8th.
reply
Noted. May God have mercy upon you.
reply
Of course the first game that ends takes 3 people out. It wouldn’t be a stacker sports pool otherwise.
reply
It's going to be a lot of very bitter commentary from me the rest of the way.
Sorry everyone
reply
I thought it was a no brainer pick.
reply
I wasn't able to watch it, but from the box score it doesn't even look like they played most of their guys.
I don't get it. They still could have ended up as high as the two-seed and they knew the Bucks were vulnerable to fall.
reply
Yeah it was an odd choice.
When are the play in games?
reply
1st Round Tues/Wednesday 2nd Round Friday
reply
I have no idea how the next round works but I will take the Lakers because the Pelicans have about as much chance at beating the Lakers as I have of winning MSM this month.
reply
The play-in is a tournament, so you all will make one pick for each play-in round.
You've got the Lakers for round 1 and then, if they win, you'll pick someone you expect to secure an 8th seed. I was planning on picking the loser of Miami/Phili for round 2 of the play-in.
I'll make that post later today, since it's such a quick turnaround.
Looks like the Suns might avoid the play in.
reply
What the hell -- let's go with the Knicks.
reply
I'll get it in the ledger.
reply
Quick someone create another survivor pool. Stacker Sports has a shot to overtake Bitcoin today as top territory. Haha
reply
How about an NFL draft survivor pool?
We each submit our predictions for 1st round draft order and whoever gets the farthest with correct picks wins?
reply
We will do something for the draft. I guess we can sort that out next week.
reply
It's not sports, but we could do a literal survivor pool for Biden vs Trump.
reply
Haha have at it
