I've been thinking about this a lot wrt my "ideal bitcoin-adjacent podcast" which does not exist, and it made me wonder what podcast other people wish existed? How would you describe it? What would its format be? Who would be the guests? Does it not exist because you're the only person who's interested, or do you think there's an audience waiting to be served?
I'm a little hesitant to ask this question given how much truth there is in this, but what the hell.
SN Salooncast?

What would it contain?

Maybe it’s just like a Twitter spaces with all the characters of the SN saloon or maybe it’s an SN hosted pod that features a different or multiple different stackers every episode. The sky is the limit.

That's actually an excellent idea.

United nations of Bitcoin podcast: A news and discussion portal that reports on Bitcoin from every country. In its current form, Bitcoin seems to appeal only to a certain segment. But the truth is not like that at all. Speakers from each country should be listened to. In this way, the necessary steps for Bitcoin to become a universal currency can be taken more healthily.

That would be really interesting -- learning about all the different kinds of people and their lives and concerns and struggles would be fascinating.

humans of new york but as a podcast that interviews non-public, not usually notable bitcoiners would be cool. Each podcast might need to be a "series" which is a large production lift, but each could have a theme.

I'd also love a podcast where a bitcoiner earnestly interviews people opposed to bitcoin or even ambivalent no-coiners about bitcoin.

Ideal podcast length is 90m-120m imo (one way, long commute) and release cadence should be 3 weekly. 3 per week ensures I'll probably want to listen to one of them on a weekly basis, but isn't so many to choose from that I'm overwhelmed by choice. If you can get me to listen to one per week, you'll have caught me in a habit.
This is probably hard to do with my wished podcast, but it's still worth thinking about.

An educators’ podcast where teachers from all over the world discuss the joys and struggles of their profession. It will be interesting for me to draw similarities and differences between the various guests featured. There is a Japanese TV show in which foreigners from many parts of the world discuss candidly what they like n dislike about Japan and their home country. I have always enjoyed watching it

Something I think would be interesting would be to have a format where you have a single guest per episode - each an owner of a company that crucially doesn't have any bitcoin integration in their business. I don't mean in terms of their treasury or whatever - I mean accepting payment for goods, services, subscriptions or whatever it is there company does. The interview would be interesting in itself if the right guests were interviewed, but the slant of this show would be to explore why this company doesn't use bitcoin, whether it's considered it, perceived or actual obstacles , etc, perhaps with then exploring possible solutions, correcting misconceptions, and so on. There could be lessons to learn in terms of development needed for wider adoption, and maybe even the occasional orange-pilling happening on the show

A podcast almost solely about Bitcoin and Lightning privacy.

My sense is that there are a number of privacy-oriented podcasts, but now that I'm thinking of it, I guess I can't name one that it's focused only on btc / LN. What's the closest thing currently existing to what you want?

Remember the old adage: If you asked horse & buggy users their ideal fix for their transportation they would've responded - faster horses.
My point is often we can't predict what we really want.
Think of it another way, if I told you "do you think a podcast with a guy who was a former host of fear factor and interested in martial arts and aliens would be a hit?"
Personally, on paper Rogan is not someone that I would've bet that I would be interested in....but he has that good knack of being a great interviewer and picks interesting people, so it works really well.

There's a sense in which you're right, clearly -- but I don't think you're right about everything. Just because sometimes people are delighted by a thing they didn't know that they wanted doesn't mean they don't actually want things and wouldn't be delighted if they got them.
If you live in a town with no good cafe, you may want a cafe, and if you got one, you'd love it.

Yeah, I can imagine generalized ideas of podcast I would like. I feel we already have very good technical focused bitcoin podcast. There's also lots of good economic / financial ones.....I would like something more focused on the social implications of bitcoin, maybe?
However even tho on paper I would want that, so much of it would be the specific personality and view of the host. So its hard to guess....

I'd be v interested in that, too, or at least, a thing that I'm hungry for could be described in that way. Btc is so big, would be nice to have a really big-picture podcast that prominently featured btc and the forces it intersects. For my taste, I'd actually like it to be bitcoin-informed, but not actually bitcoin-specific.

For sure. As per your original point, the right person can make surprising things interesting.

Thats a good description of what I would like as well. Sort of like an underlying assumption that "bitcoin is here, its a success, and will change the world"
I'd like a podcast that speculates on: What will the world look like in 50 years given this development.
