We've got JP Sears headlining The Bitcoin Rodeo this year.
We're also doing a roast of BTC Sessions.
Explain to me why you should get a free ticket to The Rodeo this year.
reply
I unfortunately never been to a rodeo, music concert or rave?? Is that the same thing? I hate to say, even if you were to offer me a free ticket, I would lose a day(in travel) to get to it even if I took a jet. As I literally live in the middle of the pacific ocean---Pass Hawaiian islands more west. I'll have a higher chance if you hosted it in Australia, but even then I probably won't be able to afford the ticket, sir. What do people do in Rodeos? Is it like riding a mechanic bull? that's my only interpretation..

Chimichurri for the win!

What’s your best tip for becoming better looking?
reply
Start with two steaks a day.
Also, try not to stress about the ever increasing reach and power of our totalitarian governments and the fact that they steal most of the value created in the world and then use that money to try to mislead, imprison, or censor us and crush our spirits.

What is one of your biggest fails, building in Bitcoin?
Any learnings for stackers or businesses that you’d avoid today?
reply
I spent 120 bitcoin on the furniture for my first store.
Investing in yourself is one of the only things I'd advise over holding bitcoin.
But if you spend your bitcoin to start your business, it will hurt.
reply
I've been browsing your website and haven't come across any challenging questions to ask, so here's an easier one. What's on your to-do list that will make life better for Bitcoiners?
reply
I'm going to make Alberta a mecca for bitcoin tourism with the best bitcoin circular economy in the world.
reply
That's a very ambitious goal, best of luck!

Do you have any business or life advice that you could share to help entrepreneurs in preparing/dealing with the likely future government regulation/crackdown? Example: #489713
Building something in a clearly defined regulator space is tough enough. It would appear even harder when one's business could be regulated out of business the next day.
reply
We all live with the risk that the government might step on our necks at any point.
This sucks but it can also create opportunity. Most good businesses solve hard problems for people.

Nice name D.
Do you foresee exchanges becoming less and less impactful and more of a saturated market as time passes?
Regardless, what is the long-term vision for BullBitcoin as you look beyond just helping people climb onboard the life raft?
reply
Eventually exchanges won't be needed.
I think we're a long way from a saturated market though. Around 15% of Canadian's have held or do hold bitcoin.
Most exchanges are degen gambling platforms. They have no idea what their actual product is.
reply
What makes you so damn cool?
reply
It could be my kind eyes and disarming smile.
Or it could be that most of my blood is made of steak at this point.
reply
beefy...I mean spiffy

What would your advice be to those who have many ideas & want to start a Bitcoin business tomorrow?
reply
I'd recommend changing the idea so that it sounds like a lame fintech startup. Then hire some south american graphic designers to make you a nice deck so that you can raise $3M. Put half into bitcoin. Then hire some devs from Bulgaria to build you a minimum viable product. Once you have that, pay some influencers to get you a bunch of users. Then go raise $60M and put it all into bitcoin. Then wait.

We have seen a number of Bitcoin hubs in the US whether it be Nashville or Austin.
It's crickets in Ontario where I live. Is western Canada becoming the base for Bitcoin development and adoption in Canada?
reply
live. Is western Canada becoming the base for Bitcoin development and adoption in Canada? Shitcoiners are at home in Toronto in their natural habitat with the bankers and realtors.
Alberta is a massive bitcoin hub. We value freedom. Our Premier is a bitcoiner.

Alberta pension plan going all in on Bitcoin once it splits from the CPP?
reply
Best steak you've ever had?
reply
Definitely a ribeye from Brant Lake Wagyu that I cooked at home.
reply
Cast Iron or stainless pan for steaks? I knew you said I have to rethink my entire life if I didn't have a cast-iron pan. :-)
reply
Cast iron for sure.
I've experimented with this a fair bit. You can get really good results with a stainless pan but it just doesn't hold the heat as well and so you don't get as good of a sear.

What’s something you believe about bitcoin that hardly anyone agrees with you on?
reply
The Lightning network is mostly a LARP.

What’s the biggest mistake you made with regard to bitcoin over all those years?
reply
I sold some in 2011.
reply
Any chance you can get Gretzky to show up for the rodeo?
reply
Yes, but I'd rather have Theoren Fleury
reply
Calgary Flames 1989
reply
Is this your first rodeo?
reply
We did the first Bitcoin Rodeo in 2018.
reply
So this ain't your first rodeo, gotcha ;)

Hi Dave! What kind of drop did you have in users of your service when the postal service stopped allowing non-KYC transactions? Do you have any plans in the future to implement something similar?
reply
I'm not working at Bull Bitcoin anymore. Francis and I talk all the time though
The change hasn't happened yet. May 7th I think?
We're working on a bunch of different things to solve this problem.
Once the Canada Post thing is gone, the next best option will likely be cash vouchers at Bitcoin Well.
Not quite as cheap and not as many locations but probably the best option.
reply
Similar to Azteco?
reply
Similar except you can buy the vouchers at Bitcoin Well ATMs.
reply
Nice, I didn't see that was available across Canada. Will definitely use!
reply
What are your views about ETF thing for Bitcoin?
reply
Owning the ETF is better than not having any price exposure to bitcoin.
In the short term, the tax advantages could outweigh the risks.
Eventually, the government will steal(6102) these coins. 100% certain, it's just a matter of when.
Seems like a weird thing to gamble on.

What’s something only someone who has been in bitcoin since 2010 would appreciate about bitcoin?
reply
Everyone who got into bitcoin back then is either a psychopath or a moron.
reply
What’s better.
A day on the beach?
Or
A day on the ski slopes?
reply
I'd pick the beach but I need an umbrella.

if you became Prime Minister of Canada today, what is the first change you would make?
reply
Disband the state.
reply
where do I put my proof of steak?
reply
In your cast iron.
reply
As someone from Texas, I deeply appreciate the steak influencing! Do you ever grill though or just cook in cast iron?
How many steaks a day do you recommend? 3 so one per meal?
reply
I do grill but not at home. Cast iron is better.
If I'm going to mix in anything else, it would be a smoker.
reply
Dude that’s awesome ‘eh! Any advice for this pleb?
reply
Eat lots of steak and don't trust the Government.
reply
If you have to tell people you are a well-known influencer, are you?
Just kidding! Thanks for doing this and welcome!
reply
Steak influencing isn't big business for some reason.
I did have a hot babe that I didn't know talk to me about that thread at a conference one time.
That counts as famous.
reply
Yes it does!
