Hey, wondering if anyone has had their channel in a green wallet lightning instance force closed. mine was, and it shows a closing transaction ID, however the ID doesnt appear in mempool so seems to either have been dropped from mempool due to low fee or not broadcasted. blockstream customer service just doesnt answer so wondering if anyone has been able to figure this out.
Thanks!
1st of all you should ask yourself why that force close happen. What could trigger a force close channel?
  • high mempool fees fluctuation in a short period, especially when you have pending HTLCs
  • corrupted db of your wallet app, or sudden power interruption when you use it. That could cause stuck HTLCs and bad state of the local channel db
  • sometimes hold invoices could trigger FC, due to high fees fluctuations. Try to avoid paying hold invoices when fees are moving a lot. I would suggest to avoid them at all with this kind of wallet, use custodial for those invoices.
So, FC usually take time, up to 144 or more blocks, depending on the pending HTLCs to be settled. So I suggest to have patience. You will not see your funds back onchain until that FC is settled. That txID is a good start, but is possible that wasn't broadcast by your device and that's why is not on mempool anymore, or your channel became a zombie. Could be also that was settled. That initial txID is only temporary and after that, will be another one that will sweep the funds into your onchain wallet. So try to follow the path of the initial addresses from the multisig tx. I think your device is using a bad internet connection and is not syncing well with the Greenlight / Explora node. Anyways, you should contact Blockstream directly on their support channels.

Yeah I understand your frustration that support team is not answering. The situation with these kind of LN nodes where you cannot control all the aspects is quite complicated. The Greenlight node system where the user control the keys but not the node is a new system and we should use it only as a testing ground for the moment.
I am using Green LN mobile but only as a testing wallet and experimenting. If I lose those funds (small amount) will nto be a big deal for me.
I already lost several amounts with Bitkit and BW LDK, same as testing ground and no responsive support team.
I use several LN wallets and nodes but I use as "day to day spending" ones only those that have a very good history and I have almost full control of the processes. All the rest are just temporary wallets.
Never depend only on a single wallet ! Use multiple wallets.

This happened to me a while ago. It took several weeks but eventually I got my funds back on-chain. The remaining funds in my Lightning wallet are stuck though so it's useless at this point, just like their Support.
