What is your super power?
Want to guess mine?
I have an IQ thats between 129-137 and a severe case of ADHD, so I'm both inteligent and retarded at the same time.
reply
Oeh! How do you experience the people around you? Less capable than you, but more capable at the same time?
reply
Exactly like that. I usually describe it like having a bottlenecked gaming PC. According to many I'm very smart, but when it comes to adulting (this includes keeping a stable job) I feel like and absolute idiot.

Yeah, I can relate to the latter, only that i'm not as smart as you. 😆
It's a good analogy, must suck to have certain capabilities "locked", but it's interesting to see that your kind is into Bitcoin.

Yeah, it's fucking frustrating actually. I've gotta say that the worst part for me is when non-ADHD people try to give me advice that doesn't work exactly because I have ADHD, like the typical "just get up and do it" and I always have to explain the problem that ADHD paralysis is and that it is a lot easier for my brain going into a cooking rampage and make a complex ass meal than its for it to simply pick up something and put it where it belongs.
About Bitcoin, I've been into it for 4 years now, somehow the novelty hasn't worn off, it's still my hyperfocus, most interesting thing I've seen in my life, keeps me up at night from time to time.

Hm, I bet that there's a well-intended meaning whenever people try to "fix" someone, but what they don't seem to get is, that things often times aren't as simple as they seem to be on the surface.
In your case, it's the ADHD that puts a hold to some things, for others, they don't even know what it is, specifically, let alone others.
Anyways, you sound like an interesting Pal, and I can relate to:
keeps me up at night from time to time.
The "🤯" Gif encapsulates that feeling the best for me.😆

Yeah, they are well intended, but once I explain the struggles that ADHD causes me they tend to see it as an excuse, which isn't the case.
reply
Yeah, that's my experience as well.
They are the same thing. Let go of that label. People that they call ADHD are just gifted. We aren't supposed to bend to societies "norms". I deal with this as well. You are gifted.
reply
I know I'll sound like a drag, but if ADHD is the price I have to pay for being smart I would rather be much dumber sometimes. I know your comment is not ill intended at all, but man, I hate my ADHD sometimes, I hate forgetting things all the time, I hate not being able to live outside the moment, I hate bot being able to "eat the frog" because the mental energy it requires from me drains me completely as is I've just ran a marathon.

Just know that you are perfect the way you are. 💚

What I am saying is "ADHD" is something drug companies made up to make you feel shitty about yourself. It's not you. It's the world. There is no need for that label. Labels in general are damaging. Every time you say "my ADHD" you are owning something that you don't have to. If I were to go to a doctor, they would come up with all types of labels for me. I think I am awesome. But I don't fit in. So be it. I love being "different".. turns out we all are. And it's beautiful. Don't let that shit hold you back.
reply
Of course that is just my perspective. And I aim to be loving only. I have been labeled many ways and I have grown to let go of it so I encourage others to do the same. But really I have no idea. That's just how I feel.
reply
Thanks for the words, I understand the labels thing, and I personally hate it as well, but I own my ADHD, it's a condition, same as OCD, BPD, BD, and any other that happens at the brain structure level.
If you are willing to change your opinion on the matter, take a look at the How To ADHD Youtube Channel by Jessica McCabe, she's been a lot of help for my and my girl at understanding myself and why none of the things that work for ADHD people work on me, great content btw.
I also would say that many people today are self-dignosing ADHD because the symptoms are too general sometimes, but one thing is having a period where you can't function properly and another is having the condition interfering with your life constantly, specially work life.

I have always had that power to sense that something bad is going to happen, it's like a sixth sense and tell me what yours is?
reply
That's a great one. How does it come through?
I'm kind of working out what mine is. I have an idea. Do you have a guess?
reply
I have had it since I was little, I discovered it when my father fell ill and I still don't know how to transfer it.
reply
Is it a feeling in your body or a thought that comes or something else?
reply
Many times I get a chill in my body and other times something in my chest.
reply
I'd say luck as well.
Luck is when preparation meets opportunity, but I think I'm just a little extra lucky on top.
