Anyone hear Trump say “let’s be nice to them at least until the election is over”?

This speech is an absolute insult to the bitcoin community. Mentioning bitcoin and crypto in the same sentence was such an easy to not do, and it really feels like the people cheering at the conference were already MAGA. Doesn’t seem like it would have been that hard to include some legitimate talking points.

The single upside is supporting the right to self custody, and of course the slight discount.

I'll just say this. If I were a statist bitcoiner. I would be voting for Trump.

I think bitcoiners need to stop pretending we are going to convince the masses into being weird analytical libertarians and anarchists. That isn't happening. Not ever. Our brains work differently.

What is happening right now in bitcoin at this conference is just the next step in bitcoin ascendance. I think many think getting governments to be our friends is the goal. It isn't. Obsoleting them and their fiat is the destination. This phase is just a bus stop we have to make.

The game theory will play out. If Trump wins and then is replaced in 4 years we could see any promises he keeps reversed. This will be a lesson for many. We have a long way to go as a species. We that get it need to start acting like leaders, not followers, or complainers.

My hot take on the price.

Price dropped (now recovered) largely due to the fact most bitcoiners were busy watching his "speech" and not trading.

This day was significant regardless of what you think of Trump. Even those of you that hate him probably watched. Those that aren't gonna vote like myself probably watched it. Its like a car crash. You can't look away. We all hope Ross is freed. We all hope bitcoin devs are not prosecuted. The stronger bitcoiners are. The harder we are to fool. The more wealth we have. The harder these clowns will pander to us.

Don't be a political slut. Have some self respect. Vote or don't. But don't be a fool. He's not one of us. But also, today was a big deal. There will be much bigger days but this was historic.

ps: We see many statist showing their colors. That's fine. We aren't the majority. Most people are statists. Don't be surprised by this.

With all those politicians there, the only thing anyone should have talked about is eliminating the BSA and all other AML/KYC laws. All the talk about supporting bitcoin and innovation is meaningless as long as these horrible laws are on the books. As far as I know nobody brought this up.
