Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.

Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!

We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!

Hello Stackers!

It's rare I make it out of ~Music these days, but just popping by to link this #473247 again. For anyone who wants to come and join ~Stacker_Sports Fantasy NFL League! Doesn't matter if you've never played before, we have some first timers already signed up, it's for fun (although a sat or two may find their way to others wallets depending on outcomes of games 😉) so if you fancy it, check the link out and sign up.

Looking to draft in the near future.

the random zaps really add some spice

less thinking, more zapping

I was not interested in this at first, but combine random with turbo and now you’re cooking with gas.

that was three zaps, but jumped from 46 to 2026 sats at the end haha

I think I prefer random zaps from the 1 to 50 without turbo

reply

Random with turbo is best with a small multiple between upper and lower bounds. 1-3 or 10-30, etc

Hi! I have a question. Why are there so many bots making comments? @k00b

reply

deleted by author

reply

I think they’re real people that don’t speak English.

reply

I agree, I think this is also the case

reply

deleted by author

reply

They're incentivized to learn it which might not be true otherwise depending on where they live.

reply

I agree with you. If anyone thinks, they are sat farming bots then they can mute them. What's the problem?

reply

People who aren’t logged in can’t mute them

reply

If we keep referring to stacker news more and more. All kinds of people will come. But gradually they will learn how to post on Stacker news and how to comment.

reply

Yes I’m hopeful they will to

reply

I've seen this on a few posts and someone commented that they were bots... on my posts too, for example I have these 3 on my last post. I turned on wild west mode to see what the comments were saying. I thought it was something you guys had created for some reason, I was curious to know, I'm really quite a novice.

You know I noticed something quite inspiring about some of my Bitcoin friends.

These are not authors or influencers or anything like that, just local plebs, but several have reached out to me with small essays or quotes and sometimes longer pieces about Bitcoin, freedom, and liberty that they have been writing on their own.

It demonstrates to me a deep search for truth that seeks to engage the material (books, podcasts, the whitepaper etc) that is already out there and to then go beyond them to resynthesise the ideas for themselves. This kind of intellectual rigour is grassroots and emergent.

I wonder how many of you keep a diary or journal where you have written your thoughts about Bitcoin? How many of you have questions that you have left in a book? Have even found yourself questioning things within or without the Bitcoin world that others take for granted?

I wonder if this trait echos the kind of energy that the founding fathers of the US carried?

reply

Having a bitcoin diary sounds awesome.

Incredible India 🇮🇳 (Day 5)Incredible India 🇮🇳 (Day 5)

The Statue of UnityThe Statue of Unity

https://m.stacker.news/43194

It’s huge, almost gigantic! That is the first reaction most people have as they speed down the winding road leading to the towering Statue of Unity (SoU). A long bridge connects the mainland to the Sadhu Bet Island, on which the statue stands. Silhouetted against the surrounding Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges, the colossal statue almost seems to pierce the skyline. https://m.stacker.news/43192 The legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s Iron Man, lives on in the form of this massive statue dominating the Narmada river basin. The statue has been built on a star-shaped geometric base that covers the entire Sadhu Hill. It has a viewing gallery at 135 m, at the statue’s chest level, that can be reached via two high-speed elevators. The gateway to the elevators is through an exhibition gallery, in which you can marvel at a model of the statue and an elaborate blueprint, among other exhibits. https://m.stacker.news/43195

Are posting fees counted in the daily revenue payouts?

I got a couple days this week where people clearly posted in ~econ, but the notification for revenue didn't show up, implying 0 revenue.

reply

@siggy47 asked about something like this a few days ago.

reply

This seems a little different. @k00b corrected an error the same day, and I received my revenue. There may be something else going on. Since the correction, my territories seem fine.

reply

I think I figured out the source of my confusion.

On my notifications, sometimes referral revenue comes before territoritory revenue, and sometimes not. And sometimes territory revenue is materially later.

And so, on days when territory revenue was late, I thought to myself "huh, last time it came before referal revenue, since referal revenue came out already, my territory revenue must be zero today".

When really, I just had to have more patience.

ExemptionExemption

The word “exemption” means to be freed from an obligation or liability imposed by others with authority, usually through contract.

Therefore to use an exemption is to accept the obligation, and subsequent imposed authority, resulting in accepting the policy within a contract that may grant you exemption.

The retry stuff was one of the harder parts, but super worth it. It’ll be really important when we are non-custodial. You’ll always know “it succeeded or I’ll be notified.”

reply

and I noticed one detail too: let's say the zap failed, there was a time gap between I can retry until the OP notices that there are some sats gone "missing", it seems like you can play with the OP? 😂

reply

The OP doesn’t know about your zap until it succeeds. If you go incognito, you’ll see that until it succeeds only you see it.
