shill incoming...
It's a self-hosted node stack with a lot of automation to make it noob friendly, and it uses nostr to make networking not a hassle. Because it's not a mobile or Tor node, it actually works most of the time. If you graduate to advanced 2, we're shipping a management dashboard soon. The back-end is also an account system so you can onboard your kids or whoever:
Remote+Nostr means one specialty is real-time sync across devices:
Caveat: still an alpha but we're shipping fixes often and its already more reliable than pretty much everything else

I'm wanting to give this a try as it seems to have things I like...PWA (mobile and desktop friendly), Nostr-friendly. I opened the PWA and signed with Alby extension. However, not seeing what I expected.
I expected "contacts" to show my nostr follows, yet I see nothing. Kinda expected my Alby balance to maybe show, yet it's still at zero. I'm guessing Alby is just a signing extension here, not a synced wallet. (?) I want to "sign out" to try again, but see no such option.
reply
It's only using nostr for comms not social, so yes Alby is just a signer that enables sync across devices... Their wallet is its own service
contacts aren't social-nostr (yet?) that's more of a placeholder for wallet specific address book functionality
reply
Fair enough on both points here.
Question: what about backup or recovery? Any mnemonic seed words or backup file in case I screw up or something goes awry?
reply
If you created a new lightning.pub node and connected to that the mnemonic is in the admin dashboard (tap the wallet logo 3 times)
If it's just a guest account it's backed up to nostr, you can also be logged in on multiple devices and it syncs in real time

Getting an incompatible message when trying to install using obtanium on grapheneOS

Hmm, haven't used either myself but I think android apk should just work, may just need to open it with the web browser instead of the obtainium app

I'm playing with the PWA.

Would love to hear your thoughts on how it goes.
reply
Okay. I'll give it a try.

Look, folks, cascdr here makes some very, very important points. Anyone who's been following this space knows that alternatives to Mutiny are badly needed. Cascdr brings up an exciting solution - Shockwallet with Lightning. A brilliant combination, really brilliant. Self-hosted with plenty of automation, it's so easy, your kids could onboard. Couldn't be simpler.
They're even planning to ship a management dashboard - something big. Huge. This isn't some mobile, undependable Tor node, people - it works. It works well. And let me tell you, the real-time sync across multiple devices - that's game-changing. Truly innovative.
Look, it's still in alpha. But they're determined, shipping fixes

zeus has come very far in the last year. tons of features there with more always coming so I'm heavily biased toward them as the best mutiny alternative.

I agree. I posted similar question some time ago and after going over suggestions Zeus looks like the leader here.
reply
Agreed. I’ve settled on Zeus for now.

Does the extremely slow load times not irritate you?
reply
It loads fast but becomes operational only after a short while. It’s manageable.
reply
Can take over a minute for me. Fastest is like 15 seconds until it's ready to use.

Zeus is quite impressive. Like another posted stated - they've come along way and their attention to detail seem so impressive - from the UX/UI to the marketing and graphics to the functionality.
I think Mutiny did some different things than Zeus... but yeah.
