  • And, filling up territory owner notifications.
  • And, I can't prove it, but I think it's incentivizing sybil attacks. No idea why people would zap these posts anything nor reply the way they do, unless they were trying to manipulate the algo.
Maybe I'm missing something about the intent of freebies. But the @DailyNews account, is a bot that is spamming the price of bitcoin to the ~econ territory.
Freebies need to be scarce. Either by time. Or luck. Or some other dimension.
There has to be something, where if you post a freebie that gets down zapped by the territory owner, that account owes some kind of debt to the territory or the downzaps. Penalty has to be something.

You can turn off freebies in your territory settings.

I was plagued by this same problem until I turned them off in all my territories.

Okay. They've perhaps lost their utility for posts. We'll keep them for comments.

OH! Sweet, thank you. Perfect. Done!
Err, wait - the spirit of freebies, would actually be okay, if we could figure out a way to make them scarce to the account. I don't take issue with all freebies, I take issue with abuse of freebies.

Most people don't see freebies. The default sats filter in settings is 10 sats.
Perhaps we should just turn them off for posts all together though.

I feel like anyone who posts a bio is likely to get some sats thrown their way, which should be enough to start posting (or certainly enough to leave comments, which should net them more sats quickly if they're not spamming).

Could you rate limit freebies somehow.
reply
We are just going to remove them for posts.

It is scarce for noobs like me but if we go about the direction of Steemit and Hive it will be a disaster. If we go about unzapping it will be counter productive to have our own Stacker Wallets. You will begin to notice the negative SATS in the wallets of the "poor" Stackers similar to what is happening on Steemit and Hive.

Yep, you're spot on with this!
Actually the social factors are what determines if all emerging platforms with micropayments succeed, regardless of which ones comes up on top.
As of now any creator that doesn't have the resources and background to understand & adapt to each space will be captured in often just one of them, with the long term risk of being in the wrong one...

I agree that they should be scarce and that they should incur a debt.
I pitched the idea of zaps to freebies first going towards paying off the foregone fee, before the OP gets anything.
I could also see there being a 1 freebie/day/account limit.

Juts turn it off

I am not experiencing this but thanks for bringing it to everyone’s attention. I believe only people with greeter and Wild West mode on see freebies.

first of all im not a bot, second of all i just provide news, i am take the sats and it's not mentioned anywhere it's not allowed to do so. stop spreading false info.
let me add, i'm just a user who provides news.
Regarding to the price of bitcoin in the ~econ territory, where was it mentioned it's not allowed??
if you got a suggestion, it's better talk to the owner via their socials..
