Currently I subscribe to posts from 8 Stackers. Rookie numbers, I need to step that up.
If you want to share, how many stackers do you subscribe to?
And who do you recommend?
Sats for all (extra sats for good recommendations).
GR
Most of them are my refferals from India including @IamSINGLE @BitcoinAbhi @Athena @Golu. Thanks to all of them for subscribing me. @siggy47 @Undisciplined @grayruby @Scoresby @Natalia @TomK @cryotosensei @k00b @Cje95 @ek are my favourite ones and on my list. There are many more who post less but they are super value like @supertestnet @Lux
reply
You are doing a great job referring.
reply
Thanks! I found out initially that there's not much Indian community here. Since then I've always been in search of someone who wanna learn. However out of 40ish referrals, hardly 5 or 6 are actively writing and commenting. Some are only reading and zapping. But everyone has accepted that SN is a great platform.

I have the same issue with people joining and staying active. Most of mine have joined from reading my posts from somewhere else like Publish0x and often they don't tell me so I cannot zap them any sats to help get started. I wish their was a way to get the user name of the person who joined so I could zap them!
reply
I wish the same. Let's demand it from @k00b and @ek. Can you guys please let us see who came here through our reference? 😜

Thank you so much! 🙏😊
reply
I'm usually just a reader/zapper. The world needs us, too!
reply
Who doesn't need a reader?
reply
Absolutely
reply
You'll have to let them know that they're is Vedic discussion here as well.

Easy to pick a lot here. But please let me point out the best follow in econony and libertarianism (the others like @Siggy47 or @Coinsreporter etc etc please forgive me)
You need to subscribe as You can learn so much from him. It's like studying real economics.

Great picks.

Thanks, right back at you.

Just two @grayruby And @pillar
I just let the SN content flow to me organically

Thanks. I also sub to you so I can enjoy your construction posts.

Thanks @BlokchainB, you just made me realise you can subscribe to stackers. I had no clue.
reply
We should probably have some re-posting of SN release posts so people get insight into features on the platform. Similar to "This Day in SN".
reply

How to subscribe? 🤣 Is there a subscription feature on SN as well? 💭
reply
Click a username and it will take you to their profile page. Next to the users name and cowboy hat there are three dots. Click that and it will give you the option to subscribe to posts, comments or mute the user. I don’t recommend subbing to comments it just clutters your notifications.
reply
I wont lie, I dont subscribe to anyones yet. But I have noticed more that I post on peoples that I enjoy. I think it is more of a mental list, so my notifications arent as cluttered. I really should subscribe, so it takes some of the clutter out of my mind.
reply
This guy gets it.
reply
There has been a lot of new people lately. And I am not the best at telling if they are AI or not. So I read a lot, but dont always comment on all of them. I choose to spend my time more wisely.
reply
I think it's extra tricky because some people seem to be mixing some AI with their own thoughts, plus translating from another language.
I've been downzapping low quality AI seeming comments more often, just in case.
reply
I have noticed the CuriositiesInTheWorld has turned into EngineeringExplained? I am not sure if they are the same people or ai. It is getting tricky. I would rather interact with people instead of bots.
reply
How can I check?
reply
Good question. I am not sure. I just know what stackers I am subbed to.
I'm at 5.
Everyone should subscribe to @jasonb, he makes great bitcoin games and crosswords.
reply
Absolutely. Don’t want to miss his weekly crossword. I wasn’t subbed to him but I will now.

reply
Only 12 people. one of which is you.
reply
Thanks you kindly.
reply
It's funny you did this now, because I was thinking about writing a Zen of Unsubscribing post. I'm only subscribed to whatever pools and contests I happen to be in, after having been subscribed to a handful of stackers.
My notifications are much more peaceful and I'm back to the original experience of browsing SN looking for gems.
reply
Great you can write the counter argument.

You don't think everyone will see that comment and be persuaded?

Didn't know you could do that.

Now you know and knowing is half the battle.
reply
How many do you mute?
reply
Only bots
reply
I am subscribed to 5 and they are people who don't really post here. I usually just browse around the site looking for content that interest me. Maybe I should be subscribed to more.
reply
That’s a good strategy too. Keeps the notifications orderly.
reply
I haven’t subscribed to anyone because I feel it will be a slippery slope to excessive notifications. Or are you finding great value in doing so?
reply
It can clutter up the notifications but also helps me not miss posts from stackers I want to read. I wouldn’t recommend subbing to comments though.
reply
Comments would be hectic. Who is your number one recommendation?
reply
@siggy47 and @Undisciplined are the two stackers I interact the most with on SN but there are many good ones. What subjects do you like to read and discuss?
reply
I like coming in and looking at the hot topics and browsing the new posts to get a vibe

Welcome. Hope you are enjoying your time on SN so far.
reply
sub'd to BooksAndArticles only. It's a good experience, would recommend.
reply
Good strategy.
reply
Actually I don’t. Sensei likes to spread his love around.
I also feel that I don’t have to be current wrt reading posts. If the Universe wants me to learn something from a particular post, things will align such that I will come across the post. All in due time
reply
That’s a good strategy as well.
reply
I'm not subscribed to any stacker. I prefer to avoid notifications as much as possible.
reply
Zero. I read the front page once a day and that's it.
That's also how I have used Reddit and HN for a decade.
