This is our open-source mobile wallet interface to NWC-enabled wallets and nodes, now in appstores.
Sounds complicated, but it's super easy. Give it a try and tell us what you think - we're always happy to hear Stackers' feedback!

Glad to see this! I'd been using BlueWallet up to this point, but having an easy way to connect back to my wallet on my personal node, fully integrated, can't be beat.
reply
Maybe Blue will implement NWC as well at some point!?
reply
Only time will tell! But in the meantime, Alby Hub + Alby Go is my go-to.
reply
Indeed is so damn easy to run Alby Hub + Alby Go.
reply
That's right, I also like the appearance, the features are also complete.
reply
Congrats and thanks but I don't have invite code for Alby hub. When you open hub for everyone?
reply
Hey, you don't need an invite code for Alby Hub - it's open source and the Account is not required. It's opened for everyone.
The Alby Accounts on getalby.com are behind invites for few reasons, but here is one for you: 920792ae
reply
If you'd rather have it now now and are on Android, it's available on zap.store. That's how I got it.
reply
The Alby team deserves a medal for this one. For some strange reason I never have failed payments, is this my life now?
reply
You have never failed... so far!

Hope you will enjoy it for years!

This works like a charm. Bye bye WoS, transferring my spending sats to Alby Hub connected to Alby GO.

congratz on noderunning! <3

Congratulations on adding achieving another milestone. I can see a great star rising in the space of privacy and decentralization.

I'm slightly confused. Is it a fully standalone non-custodial wallet like Zeus embedded or Blixt? Or is it a remote-control app for an Alby Hub instance?
reply
100 sats \ 0 replies \ @ACYK 26 Sep
It’s an open source remote control app for any NWC wallet, which could be your self-custodial Alby Hub instance, your Umbrel or Start9, or a custodial service like a legacy Alby account or CoinOS.io. Choose your own adventure.

anyone else using aqua?

Why there is no option to login with an alby account?
reply

Because this is NWC wallet, we're not bringing Alby's API there. You can however log in to nwc.getalby.com and generate connection secret to scan it with Go

Got it, thx

Can Alby Go connect to Core Lightning?
reply
Theoretically it could, if there was NWC relay next to the node - so far we're not aware if any of NWC-enabled nodes use Core Ligthning
reply
I have been playing around with it tonight. Very simple and easy to use. One thing- I know you can star out the btc and fiat balance, but is it possible to more securely hide the wallet balance? This is a mobile application, and it's mostly going to be connected to a personal node.

Hey, good suggestion!
Would you like the balance to be grayed out or not visible at all?
Currently, you can customize permission of the NWC connection, so the app couldn't know the balance.
With Alby Hub you can also create a subwallet with separate balance, for risk mitigation and other usecases
reply
No preference re the design, gray v not visible. I guess some users would want to know their balance. I will check out the permissions of the NWC connection. I haven't thought out the whole thing. Scenario I imagined- sitting in a bar, you pay a tab, and the guy next to you can see how much is in your wallet.

It looks like Hub can be installed through there. If you're talking about Go, that's a mobile app.
reply
Yeah using start 9 makes it so damn easy
reply
Honestly, even just plain ol' Docker, which is how I'm running it under Unraid, is dead simple to configure if you even have the slightest familiarity with basic container management. But the one-click nature of S9 and Umbrel just make it a no brainer.

Yes! Thank you!

Np! Glad to have been able to help!
I've had my node up a few days and it feels great having control of my own sats and actually owning the transaction from my end. Good peace of mind, even though I still don't know half of what I'm doing.

I was more referring at @Alby offering soon a preset hardware node with AlbyHub, easily connectable with the extension and AlbyGo! Or it would be too much trouble?
reply
We've been experimenting with RaspberryPI, and it's super leightweight and affordable. We've even designed custom Alby 3D cases.... but the app still needs optimization and tests so we could recommend it to others or develop preset node. Feel free to experiment with it, too!
