I have started up nodes in the past. First time in 2019 or so. And two other times, when i tried lightning also. Neither nostr or stacker news existed yet. It changes everything to have an awesome way reason to have a node. My own bitcoin that I mined from the sun, directly to stackers. I feel like all the pieces are put together now. It feels even better than I thought it would. Thanks @Alby @DarthCoin

I have a full Bitcoin and full Monero node running on my Umbrel.. Tried running a Lightning node, but I had no clue what I was doing so it's no longer up.. đ Maybe one day I'll try again.

How are you zapping with e-cash? NWC? And what is clunky about it? đ

I'm using nwc in cashu.me on my desktop, I think the thing needs to be open on my laptop to work.
Using alby x cashu.me to zap on primal desktop, alby always says zap didn't go through (which is a lie).
Seems like my auto withdraw threshold to hustle@npub.cash isn't working for some reason.
Need to play around with the things to see if it's some regarded human error.

yes it needs to be open
you mean the autowithdrawal isn't triggering when your balance is 10% above the threshold?
reply

Yep, the sats aren't being withdrawn at all.
Wait.......
Had to âïž the enable box...... Good to go!

Absolutely, DesertDave, Stacker News has brought Bitcoin to life for me. NOSTR also but mostly Stacker News. It makes having the tools worth the effort as I spent over 20 years on digital platforms spilling my guts with nonsense and wisdom. Here it's an active party. I love it! I also feel like the hosts of Stacker are not just using me nor am I just using them. We are paying to play and the value of the running platform makes it very valuable.
We are mining civilization!

I'm also thinking to run my own node but I'm not very technical and I also don't have all the means to do it now. But I think and I know it's necessary to run your own node to taste real freedom. You must be proud running it for a long time now!

Did you only set up sending but not receiving? I wanted to zap you a horse but it didn't work

I think I got the recieve set up now. It asked how much if a balance do I want to keep. Does it matter what that is set to I'm order to get a horse? Are zaps supposed to all go directly to my wallet instead? I. Using NWC
reply

No, doesnât matter
If the sender has a wallet attached,
theyâll send you real sats to your wallet, yes. Thatâs independent of your threshold to withdraw.

So how does one acquire the horse?
reply

You donât acquire a horse, the horse acquires a cowboy

If I had my way , every laptop should come with full BTC node and LN software build-in, plus some educational manual for those who want to participate....
The world would be better off, IMHO....
