Please Consider Donating For This Month 2024
Within the previous month, I set expected revenue targets. Unfortunately, the returns are much less than what's required for the rent. Revenue - Monthly Rent = -69k sats 31k sats - 100k sats = -69k sats. Total spent: 150k
Help me understand the WHY:

Little to no questions in ~AskSN:

Stackers post questions more in other territories than in ~AskSN. I'm still trying to figure out why. But it's too late as the rent is due. But I'm not ready to give up on this Territory. Please consider donating to keep this Territory alive.
Donations or zaps to this post will count toward November's rent goal. Please comment if you make a significant contribution.

Expectations:

Having boosted this post, using all the sats accumulated as revenue, @hasherstacker can't help it, but reach out to SN for bailout. I'm not raising the posting fees, but encourage all SN community to please post all questions in ~AskSN territory, regardless of the nature of the questions, whether it's about Bitcoin or anything else. Please Stackers help me out For the love of SN community
you need to try to find @birdeye21, that account posted awesome questions all the time. Hasn't been seen in a while, I think too busy getting married

Our territory discovery is bad, and I'm sorry we haven't been able to improve it yet.
Our plan is to make territory suggestions based on the content being posted, e.g. if someone is posting a question, we'll suggest they post in ~AskSN.
We also plan to allow posting in multiple territories. If the question is about nostr, we'll suggest it be posted in ~AskSN and ~nostr.
We're on the last mile with wallets. Once they are done, the majority of our development effort will shift toward improving territories and growing the site.

Any more thoughts on posting fee distribution when cross-posting?
I was reading @Undisciplined's idea in a comment thread a while ago about inversely proportional payout and thought it was interesting.

It's definitely interesting. It's hard to say until we're in the thick of it, but ime it's best to start with the simplest, most intuitive scheme, establish a baseline and gather real data, then add complexity in that context and contrast it with the baseline.

This makes sense. Thank you @k00b.

One of my favourites and have been using it since launch like the various questions and a spot to ask the SN faithful

I think "askSN" should be an attribute/tag of a post, like "showSN". Having a territory full of questions on different topics make little sense to me. So I'm not surprised that people prefer to use topical territories to post their questions, this natural match possible users able to reply.

I had not realized this territory existed, but due to its generic nature it haves no sense to me, and would purposely avoid it. I hope this do not comes out as rude, but hopefully as feedback from the user perspective, for you to reconsider the usefulness of the territory altogether. In its current shape "AskSN" defeats the purpose territories exists.

I won't easily get offended as long as your feedback helps to improve the usefulness of not only this territory but the entire SN.

I have almost the same negative results (paying monthly for more then half a year) running ~news but I see it as a long distance marathon and keep up on paying my rent and enjoying informing SN users about the most important (in my opinion) news and events worldwide, hoping it will eventually reward me in future. 😉
So my advice to you is to buckle up, try to post quality content (in your case answers, tutorials about SN as a platform), lower your expectations about your territory revenue and don't let the negative Sats balance give you up!
Wish you luck 🤞🍀 buddy!

I recently created a post where I added the [AskSN] tag (#758148). However, as it was a question about Nostr, I posted it in the Nostr territory. The other time(s?) I actually posted in AskSN was when I did not find another territory to post. It's kinda like it was my fall-back option. It's good to have fall-back territories (~news, ~lol, ~videos kinda similar in that sense), but they might need specific managing strategies.
As a general comment for most territories, don't expect to become profitable in the near term. Only territories such as ~bitcoin, ~econ, ~lightning seem to have sufficient natural activity to make enough money right now.
My ~science territory is far from being profitable. But it's going in the right direction. I've had it for nearly a year or so. I think you need daily 5-10 posts with decent activity to break even. It takes time and personal commitment. I also generously zap posters in my territory to incentivize them to come back. You probably should aim for providing yourself at least 1 daily high quality AskSN post.
If you want people to donate, you probably need to give them some kind of action plan. Otherwise, they'll think you'll just come back next month with a similar plea.

Nice advice. Thank you. Of course this is a one time plea.

Considered it's first month, this territory is doing pretty well... #10 already on the monthly top territories list by stacking and #18 by revenue.
Many of the territories have been in red for nearly a year... smell fiat around here!

BTW: look's like only 3 are in profit atm #736132 ... consider @hasherstackerconsider yourself lucky (or you just did a great job til now)!

I often find that ask SN best fits my post. I think its a good one for when you can't find the answer to a question and hopefully get a helpful response from the SN community.

I zapped this post 1000 sats in support 🫡
I started an “Am I the A-hole” series in your territory cowboy, and my best post earned almost 800 sats. #738177
I pushed it hard! I made many mentions. I even published a podcast on fountain to accompany it! But in the end, I could not generate a ground swell to join me in further [AITA] posts.
Thank for making the territory. Hope the 1000 sats helps increase this post’s trust score🚀
Thank you @supratic fir the mention💪

One of the best ways to donate to territories is to boost your posts in them. It also helps raise awareness of boost so that others do it.
