That is a good, simple solution. It's just that my NAS is probably 10 years old and doesn't have much storage space left. I have a Start9 server which I was planning to use. I do know the Synology apps pretty well. Maybe I can upgrade the storage.
Do not mix your node with this stuff ! I am warning you. Synology is just fine.

I remember your warning to me when I had a pi4 with Umbrel a few years ago. The Start9 server is pretty powerful. Your same warning would apply?

Yes. Always compartmentalize BTC node stuff from other crap.

Okay. I'm going to listen to you.

You can even personalize the access with multiple DynDNS systems, using Synology.me, DiskSation.me, DScloud.me. So you don't really need a fix public IP.
I was tempted to write a guide about "NAS for bitcoiners", but there are so many tutorials on internet that is not worth it.
Seriously people are really underestimate these NAS and are powerful machines dedicated for this stuff (sharing stuff on internet). You only need to study a little about how to secure the access and done.
Keep your node "clean" and robust and use a NAS for anything else.

Synology had one of the best Video Server (acting like a personal Youtube). Unfortunately with the DSM 7.2.2 they removed the Video Station. If you do not mind keeping it not updated, you can still use Video Station. In that page you can find a tutorial how to replace it with an alternative. It can be used also Plex Server.
