Currently there needs to be a blank line between text and images for us to render the image. We were trying to prevent unintentional image rendering when a link is shared, but oversteered.

Haven’t been on SN much. Had to drive my mother to a doctors appointment about an hour away. Seemed to be working ok earlier. Just jumped back on SN now while waiting for her to finish her appointment.

I think the difference for posts is, you need to click Quote Reply from the overflow menu after highlighting the text, since the reply input field is already open by default.
