It was inevitable. The animal removal guy is banging around in our attic. Due to the cold, I guess, raccoons got in through a space between roof shingles and made a mess. Got into some old family photos, Christmas ornaments, etc. Overall it could have been worse.

Where are the sd cards? I can't remember a single camera that used CD storage. No, cloud will never become photo storage, SD cards and CF cards are still king for the forseeable future. Also film is not dead.

It wasn't pretty or elegantly small, but a 128 MB SD card in 2002 cost about $300. But a spindle of 154 MB Mini-CDRs was only $20. But battery capacity was an issue, spinning up and burning CDRs.

Yeah it's pretty cool how they work.
  1. I have an old zbd account from '21 with a lnaddr of k00b@zbd.gg
  2. applications go to https://<domain>/.well-known/lnurlp/<name> when they want to pay a lightning address
  3. from the response in (2), we take the callback field (another url) and then append arguments like the invoice amount
  4. When visiting the url in (3), it has apr response which is the bolt11 invoice that we pay

Awesome thanks for asking. It’s been a multi year process. He works in IT and started his own company as a boutique automation testing firm. He pens it and wants to do the microstrategy and put their cash reserves in Bitcoin. I think he’s finally going to start!
Was thinking of starting him at River and working him to self custody after. Skipping the EYF phase. Not sure he’s ready for self custody yet

You have to watch out for the cold as you age. Cold is no longer cold it is just freezing. Also, hot is much more than hot, it is broiling. No escaping it, either. It gets you both ways.
