It's 5am here, I woke up an hour ago after a bad dream: I was being chased by a cheetah on my way back to home. Everyone was running away, but it seems that of all the people running for their lives, the feline had singled me out, and it was getting closer, and closer. My plan was to run to a fence and climb it, but I don't know if I made it eventually, because that's when I woke up... So, probably not. πŸ˜”
Usually I can't fall asleep after a bad dream, so I just go on with my routine. The first thing I do is measure my bolt score, which is 38 seconds today. As you can see on the chart, it's been going downhill since the beginning of the year, coinciding with when I started working extra hours in the evenings, and going regularly later to bed. This chart shows to me, in real time, how sleep is important for my overall health, and how other factors, like diet for example, affect it. Don't get me wrong, a 35 sec average is still not bad, but I had worked my way up to 40+ last year and was targeting 60. This now seems so out of reach, unless I go live in the mountains, away from civilisation and modern life, lol.
Impressive (terrifying?) to see.
I was also chased by a hungry feline! For some reason I was working at a tiger+lion facility, and someone hadn't closed the gates so the very hungry lionesses escaped and chased me around
ed: 32 seconds today, but honestly I could have let go (body wanted air) after like 7 seconds...

Recognising that signal when to stop can take time. For me it's usually a contraction of the diaphragm.

I'm still a little unclear as to the instructions... I can definitely hold a little longer, I think, but then I would probably be "gasping for air" etc

Your breathing should be normal after the breath hold. Sometimes, I miss the mark by ~two seconds, and it takes me two or three breaths to regain my composure.

Thanks for sharing the cheetah dream! Better than being chased by mother in law!
What’s a bolt score?
