Is it possible to perform worse than the average token scam? Turns out, yes

I naively started reading an article about EV companies going rekt on wolfstreet only to see scams worse than SOL scams: EV companies. Most of them SPAC acquisitions, these truly go to zero.

I'd guess that just like with the fish, there also always is a greater fool.

💡 It could be an idea to track all the key players in all the scams. Fill us a "scammerdb".

This way, next time that Mr. Milei gets a call for a meeting, an aide can with a couple of keystrokes find out whether the boss should be protected against his overeager need to "share" things in public 😂😭

@k00b @ek I originally posted #890577 on ~nostr, not sure how I did it, but when edited and saved again it ended up in ~design. now can’t revert anymore because ~nostr is more expensive than ~design… but I originally paid for it to be published on ~nostr. Now is done and will stay like this, maybe something to consider fixing in future releases?

🔔 1918 will enable switching to a more expensive sub by paying the difference. I think it's a good midway between free change and full price, plus it would prevent abuse of territory switching when Perpetual Edits will happen

The territory picker on post edits let you change the territory if you fumbled within 10 minutes.

There's a lot to smooth out, though about cannot changing to an expensive sub...🤔 It is indeed to prevent posting into a low-cost sub and then editing for free to post it to another sub. The workaround is to delete the post and then post it again on the right sub but I wonder if allowing to go back to the original territory would suffice.

I finally deleted all my social media accounts: YouTube, Reddit, X, Snapchat, IG, FB, WhatsApp, and many more. I also deleted accounts from websites and services I think I'll never need, as well as my Microsoft Account and Google accounts, including Gmail. It took me so much time to realize that I wasn't consuming a product, but instead, I was a product. Thanks to you all. Yes, I'll miss a lot of things, like fun group conversations, what my friends are doing, and what my crush posted, but I'm ready for this. I think if someone really wants to reach out to me, they'll ping me on Telegram, Nostr, email, or Signal.

Have you ever tried doing this? Did you go back again or never?

To a large extent, I have.

I still watch dumb videos on YT, but for anything of substance I use Fountain or Rumble. I also haven't deleted my gmail, but I only use it for fiat business and in case someone is trying to get in touch with me who doesn't have better contact info.

I should go through and do a more intentional clean up of whatever accounts I still have open.

You'll see a great change, to be honest. It took me almost a week to delete all those unnecessary accounts I had. I had to write emails to customer service and request my complete data deletion. It was a lot of headache, but finally, it worked. Now I'm where I think it's good to be, and my screen time has reduced drastically. It's definitely good for your mental health and overall health and fitness. If you used a password manager, I think the process would become a little bit easier. Now I'm fully on my way to moving to open source apps only—no hidden trackers, no ads, just service.

For YouTube, I still use it, but not with any account; I use LibreTube and NewPipe. Both are open-source, and the best thing is you have a lot of control over what you see, like no shorts, no personalized feed, and no comments shown, etc. It helps me a lot because I don't get distracted.

I also haven't deleted my gmail, but I only use it for fiat business and in case someone is trying to get in touch with me who doesn't have better contact info.

That's definitely okay; you should keep it as long as the people around you and your business are ready for some other alternatives. I was able to delete Gmail because I was already a Tuta user and only used that one for everything, but now I've completely shifted to ProtonMail. Still, I'll keep my Tuta mail.

my wife is much better connected, both in bitcoin & normie world, while i am more purist.

the facebook market place, for example, offers very good trades, and they are often cash-trades. over time we could outsource that task to some normie who wants extra funds.

those gmail accounts take a while to get rid of, that's quite a project, especially for those deep in the matrix! i went pretty deep... however, i have been off bitcoin twitter for 2 years and only occasionally click on the shared links, preemptively changing the address from "x.com" to "xcancel.com"
