And after holding discussions for a few months to decide how to proceed, the EU decides to form a committee to issue a report.
It seems like Zelensky's the obvious choice.

The whole thing was such a clusterfuck. From reading thru the exchanges, there are lots of points where I sympathize with Zelenskyy.
But, he really really should've just reigned himself in. Its unclear why he even came....JD I think correctly pointed out to Z that "you are suddenly now trying to litigate this in front of the press"
From what I gather, Z suddenly changed terms on 2 key parts once the camera were rolling:
  1. Wanted security guarantee that included US presence in Ukraine (hmmm....that sounds like you want to be part of NATO?!?)
  2. In his final outburst, Z said basically that "Putin will never adhere to whatever we agree to here" (hmmmm....well why are you here? it sounds like you don't want peace negotiations and are committed to further conflict)
Evidently both teams had agreed to terms, enough so that they had binders prepared and were going to sign in the next room in front of the cameras, then the blow out came.
As I said, I honestly do have some sympathy for Z, but in the end it was just a really poor decision or poor self control.....

2): Wtf man, of course Putin would break any "Vow" that'd be made "with the USA".
Why? Because who fuckin' cares if it's Ukraine-controlled resources or Russian-controlled?
All Trump cares about is deals, that's it. He'll get the resources one way or the other. He's not somebody that should be in the position of POTUS.
He's a businessman trying to hunt short-term deals which will most certainly blow out some American- and Global joints sooner or later, it's pathetic that we've come to this point.
The only possible way I see Putin stop at the current lines, is either a European or American-European-Mix of troops IN Ukraine BEHIND a demilitarized zone - think South-North Korea.

Honestly why would Putin stop at where he is? What would he have won with that? A tiny piece of landmass which isn't going to be respected as "his" by, well, most of the world? It's a test-run.

He was grandstanding for the Eurocratic media

If a burglar broke into your house repeatedly (after promising not to) raped your women and family, shot your dog, and threatened to kick you out of your 'own home' "for your own good" because "you started the war"...
What would you do? Because that is basically the Ukraine situation right now.

Your analog is basically wrong on every level

He was invited, I assume.

I felt like I was watching children play at world politics....
reply
If by 'children' you mean trump and vance. Zelensky acted like an adult, at least as far as the news reports showed.
reply
you're not far off the mark
reply
Can children cut off all aid to each other? Because that is what Trump will do to Zelensky. Trump can make a separate deal with Putin.

It's very sad. Wars are always disgraceful and I hope these leaders involved find an understanding because families are being torn apart because of greedy men.

I've just watched Z on fox. If I were him, especially in these difficult and tense moments, I would only speak in my native language in front of cameras, and have an interpreter to translate to the public.
reply
That’s what really bothers me. I think all leaders use interpreters at the official meetings regardless if they speak English or not. He definitely has advisors knowing this, so why hadn’t he use the interpreter? Was it on purpose?
reply
The way he conducted himself in the Oval Office, it doesn't seem he listens to his advisors a lot (?). He appears to lack basic self-awareness and self-control. I still feel kind of sorry for him, though.

are you capable of recognizing the occult symbolism that is in front of ur eyes every day? what is on the insignia on Z's shirt? what does that brand stand for? thank u for ur curiosity, tho expressed in a sarcastic-dismissive manner.
awakening one mind at a time is still a good work.

What shirts, please? Because the Azov brigade used to have it means what? Don’t ridicule yourself.

These are nazi signs. Nationalists in ukraine are ruling and fighting the war against russia. These people killed leftists in the maidan revolution and started to bomb own people in east ukraine because of russian origin. These azov fighters kill zivilists before leaving the territory to russia and then blame it on russian soldiers. We have seen it in bucha and many other places. It is time to talk about the end of the regime in ukraine.

LOL. Its like a "Yes Minister" episode.

Been playing with some AI tools today.
What would Sir Humphrey say that the EU should do in response to Trump?
"I think it would be advisable for the EU to adopt a policy of 'constructive inaction' in response to Mr. Trump's withdrawal from Europe. By which I mean, they should carefully consider all available options, weigh the pros and cons of each, and then, after due deliberation, decide on a course of action that is, in effect, a nuanced and sophisticated variation of doing nothing. This approach would allow the EU to maintain a dignified silence, while also avoiding any potentially destabilizing or provocative actions that might be misconstrued by the Americans. In short, the EU should do nothing, but do it with great deliberation and a deep understanding of the complexities involved."
Not bad and it is likely what they will actually do.

If Trump and Vance see a woman being raped in an alley, they will steal her purse and leave

When will this clown realize that there is no win? Instead they try to invade russia. He is mentally ill and taking to much drugs. They have to start talking about capitulation or it will be a unconditional surrender and trump will have to speak to putin if he wants something from ukraine.
reply
Just watched the video. The king is naked. So much insensitivity, arrogance, and boorishness, this would kill even a horse. If I were in Zelensky's place, I would probably just get up, not even shake Trump's hand, and leave.
This is about the very existence or non-existence of your country. You work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It must be insane frustration. You see an approaching catastrophe, into which you are not dragged just by Russia, but the USA is also throwing you into hell.
Trump and Vance talked about shit just to humiliate Ukraine. We helped, so why aren't you bowing to the bare ground, kissing our shoes, stuffing yourselves into our ass holes? Look how big they are (anyway it is super crowded there), his majesty, his excellence Trump demands it. We are great, you are nothing.
