The soft fork does not break existing rules, but adds a new one, so it restricts even more the consensus. It is the hard fork the one that breaks them. In these clases they explain the subject very well, especially scenarios regarding the mining support of different types of forks.

This is interesting however. IMHO this is just a soft fork, where this miner is enforcing a new "rule" (blocks must be empty). And by the hashing power the miner has, seems this is a successful fork. Minority miners will only mine orphans and therefore will get 0 reward. What these guys of bsv do not get is that this is how the game works.

Yeah, a digital ID does not make sense to me, sounds too vague. What would it be for? If it is for population control and social scoring system, then no thanks. If it is for an authentication token, I prefer an air gapped device like a yubikey or my ledger. I would not accept a state/UN sponsored public key device as my personal ID.

My ideal is that LN will be a near 0 fee (< 10 PPM) network, where the world makes 10M tps, in a continous stream of money. I suppose due to the amount of HTLCs involved, millions of channels and routes will be required for it.

I have been strugling with my lnbits instance at my home umbrel because of the difficulty of making the extensions to work on clearnet (using a domain+ proxy vps + tailscale but some extensions do not work). Also umbrel is not updating the app. Question can a 1 core 1 gb ram vps run lnbits instance?
