Not only is this not true, its easy to check https://bitcoinuptime.org/
What happened to "trust but verify"?
I will be switching to Linux soon..attempt number who knows how many over the past 15 years. Make no mistake though, it is about as crappy as its ever been for the user experience, and you will find yourself diving into terminal commands often to get things done. Linux cannot and will never be able to deliver a mass market consumer experience similar to Windows or Mac.
Unfortunately, this for many - myself included - is often a deal breaker. I just don't have the patience to deal with Linux. I don't want to bother with the command line, and I don't typically have time to google on "how to do x" when it literally just works in Windows. Every time I have had an issue, it has always ended with a Linux maxi telling me that Linux is ultimately an operating system for people who love to tinker.
I use Linux for all my server and sysadmin needs, but I have low confidence switching this time to it for a desktop experience will be any different than the previous.
I would rather just stick to Ledger. I will not and should not have to use multiple apps for the same experience.
It does not look like Sparrow has a mobile option and lacks the features I mentioned. Maybe in the future but I need cross platform between mobile, Windows, and Linux. Should have mentioned that, totally my bad.
These news networks are decades behind the curb. Facebook, Twitter, and any other platform with an algorithmic feed figured it out a long time ago. You can market to idiots on the left and right by using algorithms to keep the content feeds segregated.
How about this for a change. If a news network wants to cater to left or right leaning people, then report on just the facts and flush your opinionated bullshit down the drain.
There are projects but they are almost impossible to find and still in very early non production stages. One is called BitSwarm
I have a different opinion. I check Bitcoin Reddit more than twitter because its where you will find a good inflow of very new users. Bitcoin Twitter is where most of the conversation happens, but Bitcoin Reddit is where you can get a strong feel for new user sentiment.
Stacker news is going to have the least noise for now, because it is an entire platform dedicated to one thing. But it is an echo chamber, or a "safe space".
I also check other subreddits like technology to see what the sentiment is and if I can detect any measurable change.
Checking for sentiment and noting if it has changed or not, or is slowly shifting, helps you determine where the wider conversation among no coiners is leading, and that is important. How can you convert people to Bitcoin without understanding why they dislike it to begin with?
Everyone in Bitcoin would do well to avoid a diet of echo chambers, it only builds a community that is no different from any other echo chamber you may disagree with.
