It just occurred to me that with biometrics and AI reaching the level they are at we are maybe going to see grocery stores where you just walk in and get your stuff and walk out. No cashier, you are monitored throughout the store and they know exactly what u took and who u r and what and where to charge. Easy.

I watched a great MIT Open Course piece on Lightning from the earlier days by Tadge Dryja.
I am keen to understand more about what Lightning is like to work with as a developer? I get the impression that it is quite strict and complex to work with. How will it grow to serve the world as a Layer 2 tech, how far away are we from that, what are the big challenges on the horizon?

At the application layer, it's less strict than trad financial rails. The protocol layer is definitely tricky though.

Anyone else with a Fold card? Did they nuke the 1 month purchase history match (5k sats back) spin reward? I used to get this almost every day making my daily McD's ice coffee almost free. I haven't gotten this spin reward now in over a week which seems like a statistical impossibility (should be 12% per their TOS). Did they cap the number of times you can spin this?

I don't know about rhis particular issue but I wonder if rising interest environment is good or bad for this kind of company. If bad that could maybe explain the potentially lower reward.

I am still pondering how to best open up LN channels and whether I should switch from Citadel to something more robust. At some point, I just need to stop reasearching and make a decision :)

The most important question is WHY do you want to run a LN node. Once you answer yourself that question, you start building the node suited for that destination. Not all LN nodes are equal.
