There's a Steak 'n Shake right down the road from what I think is the oldest roadside attraction in the US.
For all you stackers with young kids, I think this calls for a road trip.
I like how 'mericans are so proud now of the only place in the whole US where they can really pay with sats directly (not intermediaries) and they think is the peak of "bitcoin adoption"... LOL
As I said... US will be the last place on Earth of real Bitcoin adoption.
See for yourself... take for example Europe vs US
'mericans MUST ditch their lovely VISA fiat cards in order to get my respect as real bitcoiners... until then... are just ETF-ers (aka paper hands)

Not really P2P! Steak 'n Shake is using Speed... custodial service for business, charging 1%!

I saw that and thought you were using that wallet.

I test it to validate my assumptions. And yes, it's a custodial service. It's the business merchant responsibility to cashout.

do not jump onto baseless conclusions just by seeing a ticket

Why do they always have to mix in with terrible solutions—custodial Bitcoin wallets and shitcoins in this case—instead of just doing things directly? There’s always some shit involved.

Mostly because is a registered business, so what else you can expect, they have to comply, and they chose a solution that help them comply easily.
When business owners will learn how to manage private non-registered organizations, then Bitcoin might have a chance to operate at a bigger scale peer to peer. In the meantime, paper bitcoin is invading the markets.
  1. corporations still do not have proper staff prepared for this
  2. as stepping into a new territory you have to see how much cash flow you get from that payment system to worth investing into infrastructure
  3. they are afraid of getting directly the sats because of conversion
With merchants you have to be patient, is not easy. But is a good start. Not all merchants are fucking crazy ancaps like Darth... give them time to became.

At least we can talk shit online without going to jail.

you still need a license for that LOL You 'mericans are getting drunk with water when you say "land of the free"...
much "freedom", when instead you get only privileges...
Let me know when you stop voting and pay taxes... then we can talk about freedom

Maybe the people will start standing up for themselves and fighting for their freedom/rights soon. We can only dream right.
I have seen a significant uptick in merchants not on any map willing to accept my bitcoin for payment over the past several months. I'm hopeful the trend continues. Maybe we are last but at least heading in the right direction.
reply
at least heading in the right direction.
sure... with ETFs and BSRs LOL And on top of that Strike (new paypal over LN) and Bitcoin Company that is selling you VISA cards... hahaha you such losers still living in fiat (USD) world.
will start standing up for themselves and fighting for their freedom/rights soon
I see that... you are taxed like hell and you still pay taxes. Nice "stand-up"

I can't wait until I can go to a steak and shake!

I was impressed by how easy it was. In my limited experience, paying with bitcoin in a typical business is a clumsy, novelty event.

Weeki Wachee is fantastic. So old school, you get that pre-Disney feel. Incredible swimming hole. From what I understand the mermaid "girls" still have reunions and it's a real local honor to have that feather in your cap. Not do mention the respect...they actually do some impressive swimming and diving.
