My father died almost 3 weeks ago and I am still trying to close his mobile subscriptions. Today I told again the whole story to a 4th person at Vodafone. Meanwhile they issued the another invoice. They are hiding behind the 30 days period for response.
I am speechless at this kind of behavior. Lack of humanity.

not paying a dime. I had so many expenses lately because of the event (and it keeps piling up) and I really cannot afford un-needed extras.
they have to deal with it internally. I notified them in time of the event, it is not my problem they need 30 days to respond because of lack of personnel or any other reason.

The Wire is my favorite TV series overall, but I stopped watching in Season 4 because it became less interesting.
I like Lost until the story felt like it was going off the rails. Forgot which season.
Mr. Robot was cool, but I wasn't interested in the scenes about his psychological / drug problems. There was too much of that imo.
Game of Thrones I can't give a fair shake because I read the books first. Also mad at the author for not actually finishing the series.

Any reason .avif files can't be uploaded? images seem to be converted to .avif when we upload them anyway.
We don't convert images (but we want to for better cross-platform support)
Not sure why we don't support AVIF. I thought maybe because of bad browser support but that's not the case. Maybe we just didn't add because nobody requested it before?
Also, we do support Quicktime from Apple even though that does have bad browser support iirc

So as I was saying, there’s no technical reason to not support AVIFs, pretty sure that, back then, it was useless to consider them.
We can add it to the list of supported formats.
QuickTime from Apple is something that we desperately needed for a better iOS UX, before you couldn’t upload them! But that actually made me think about transcoding: a way to convert those proprietary formats to everything that everyone can play. We’ll get there 🫡

our imgproxy service converts images to AVIF for better performance (compression), so that’s expected.
To download the true format, click “view original” on the top-left of the carousel ^^

No. The images we load automatically are proxied to prevent IP address leaks and to improve performance by scaling them down based on your device’s screen size (and possibly through caching as well).
For example, if you’re using a small screen, there’s no need to download a 4K-resolution image.
Friendly reminder that insulting someone you're in an argument with and impugning their motives usually just looks like you don't know how to defend your position and probably means you should think about what they said a bit more.

I completely agree, and that's why this mission is complicated and I won't be applying it to everyone. Most people don't want to wake up from their dream or don't realize they're going through life with their minds asleep.
Happiness Journal 30/10/25
After getting 20+ students to finish an online lesson on the water cycle, I felt inspired to come up with my own comprehension cloze on the interesting aspects of air. Yup, the pivotal thing to our survival but is non-salient in our minds because it kinda fades in the background.
Gonna get my fifth graders to attempt my literary masterpiece the first thing tomorrow lesson. Quite looking forward to seeing if they have learnt anything from this year-end exam extravaganza.
In other news, I got so engrossed in watching Physical:Asia that I gave up my usual 15 mins of lie-in. Gonna pay for it dearly tonight because my depleted energy tank is gonna run even lower looking after two kids, but it is also strangely exhilarating finding a TV show that I liked so much that I threw caution to the wind!
