Let me know if there’s something I can do as a contributor to help this process.
One idea could be to group all the small PRs together and release those relatively quickly, then go in and do the meatier ones over longer time periods to give you more confidence
I was noodling around writing tests for some of the sql functions today but didn’t come up with any great ideas that didn’t require spinning up the DB and executing against it. That would make the test suite heavier to execute than preferred, IMO.
Maybe it’s not the worst thing, though. Seed some users. Write test cases that create items, zap, and verify expected wallet states.
That's a good point. One reason I find myself piling in PRs to a release is so I can test everything together ... I think I'm saving time, but I'm probably just slowing the release cycle down.
Are they trying a bit too hard perhaps? People who give out metal business cards know how cool they look when they give out metal business cards. Everyone else thinks how uncool it is to try and look that cool.
As an aside in Japan I promise that heavy stock paper and clear script will get you further. The art and presentation of cards is its own ritual.
And you can always watch American Psycho for inspiration (about cards, not murdering people obviously!)
Good morning gang!!! It's Friday at last!!! The weekend is about to start and been craving a BBQ with some frosty brewskies so let's see how it pans out, I wish you a phenomenal day, may you feel accomplished, loved and with purpose. You are important, you matter and you absolutely kick ass, tomorrow will be a more relaxing day so today let's give it one last push, you've got this. It has been a rough time but we are still here standing and will continue to do so because we've got this bud. As always, be well and stay frosty!!
Proposed: a shitcoin sub. All discussion of shitcoins would be required to go in there.
On an unrelated note, the US President Joe Biden just called me from his personal cell phone to tell me that I am the president now. They parked Air Force One in my driveway to take me to the White House. "I can't be President right now Joe, I've got a comment on Stacker News to finish writing," I pleaded, but Joe simply wasn't having any of it. He got angry and told me some personal anecdote from his childhood, and now I'm on my way to the oval office to start my new career as a politician. So yeah, THAT just happened.
I read this way too early in my day. I understand it a lot better now. I switched jobs very recently to make sure I could do a job I would love. I see too many people stuck in jobs they don't like, but I can't stomach that for very long.
That all written, I have certain goals in mind, and my current state of employment serves as much as a "career" as a step in achieving my goals, but the steps aren't the goal, though the pleasure of mastering them keeps things interesting.
In my few corporate jobs I've found people are reasonable within the paradigms of their responsibilities, however when that responsibility is about money on the line, often reason goes right out the window.
I can do my work with enthusiasm and pleasure without deluding myself as to the nature of my relationship with this work. Someone signs my paycheck and has expectations of my performance. That is a grind.
