Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!
We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!
Appreciating this beautiful market! Prices are soo good right now. Amazing times to grab as many sats as we can 🙏

So many ppl getting their panties inna bunch about Gensler for delaying spot etfs…
Saylor always liked Gensler — he understands bitcoin very well, understands what it implicates. So does the USGov, and they’re doing whatever they can to try to control the situation.
Meanwhile he’s probably building a big case against ETH as a security
Enjoy ur cheap sats

Yeah. IMO the SEC's not gonna move before their concerns about price manipulation are allayed and Binance is reined in.
Until that day comes, I shall continue to slurp this scrumptious little dip. Mmmm.

If you're still around, @DarthCoin, your article helped out the restaurant owner regarding setting up a lightning address. Here's his text: "Ok, that article by darthcoin is awesome. I just bookmarked it and sent it to all my btc group chats."

Thank you so much! This kind of feedback is what makes me to keep helping people and giving me hope.

If I were to make a podcast app, it'd be centered around making it trivial to create a podcast. I know were all fatigued by our friends creating podcasts, but the barrier to entry is still too high. It's still too much a medium for celebrities, influencers, and motivated narcissists ... and everyone is capable of talking and opining.
AI could probably help a lot stitching short form audio back and forth conversations into a listenable experience.

Speaking of Westerns... "The English" on Amazon Prime isn't bad. Solid revenge story so far, kinda like Count of Monte Cristo meets American West but it's Emily Blunt

SN Feature request…
On satistics page, get our own charts & graphs as a summary of the table data. Much like analytics pages.
Would love a visual chart of stacks & spends in comparison to the activity of the overall site. Plus data filters to choose our preferred period. Gracias!
reply
Agreed! I've been wanting that since the beginning

That moment when your onchain tx with 8sat/vB goes through after three weeks and you saved $1

Wrong. You saved 4000 sats not $1. Those sats will feed your grandkids in 50 years for 1 year. Don't be like "Rope"...
reply
Oh, right, totally overlooked that I wrote $
You were very easy on me for this, lol
The world is about to get so, SO much better
And that's exactly why they'll try to make you think the world's ending
Because the new world doesn't need them

ᕦ(ò_óˇ) Day 11 of exercising everyday before the saloon opens
Went to sleep around 2AM and woke up at 9AM. I went with my phone on low battery into bed. I know it's not a good habit and I didn't do it for the last 5 days or something but I really wanted to watch something for a few minutes before sleeping for some reason. And it was indeed just a few minutes (like a compromise I did with myself). Also, my phone was dying anyway. I thought I would get up and plug it in before I start to sleep but I didn't.
Fortunately, my circadian rhythms seems to already be strong enough such that I wake up at 9AM without an alarm anyway.
I then went for a run but I noticed within 5 minutes that my legs are exploding, lol. Felt soreness at spots I don't feel sore usually (at the shinbone for example). Took this as a sign I should take it easy today before I hurt myself or it's even worse tomorrow. So I just went for a short walk in the forest. Guess all this walking in the past days is still showing.
Also took this as a sign that the habit of exercising early in the morning is forming itself: My mind wants to exercise but my body does not.
I think one of the biggest mistakes is to not listen to what your body is trying to tell you. It tells you when it wants to exercise and when it doesn't. Imo, that's also why we feel bad when we don't exercise since we can feel our body longing for some exercise but our mind is not listening. Now I am at the spot where my mind wants to exercise more than my body. Not listening to my body again would destroy the habit in the long run again.
I should maybe start to look for other areas in my life that I can improve. I used to do intermittent fasting in the past and it worked really well. I want to do this again. Maybe I'll start in the next days.
See you around, cowboys!
reply
You are doing great. Maybe the focus should be on ‘activity’ rather than ‘exercising’. And don’t forget to stretch!

Yep, but I can't change the text of the streak now, can I? haha
And don’t forget to stretch!
Good point, I think I should stretch even without exercise more. I usually stretch before but I think stretching afterwards is also if not even more important?
I have a complaint about Stacker Saloon. When my day is winding down and I feel like kicking back, grabbing a beer and chatting with my favorite stackers, they are all sleeping or busy living their lives. The place is dead. This is unacceptable. Therefore, I am asking that all the people I want to chat with either:
  1. Relocate to the eastern time zone, or
  2. Rearrange their days.
Thanks in advance.

A major New Zealand crypto exchange called "Dasset" collapsed recently. A story as old as time, NYKNYC.
I interviewed a lawyer about the situation, as well as talking about an article he wrote about how the previous hack of the Cryptopia exchange helped develop law in New Zealand.

Looking forward to listening! I highly recommend you check out "The Transformation of Value" podcast if you haven't yet.

A big sat payout day today?
reply
21st of the month (evening of the 20th) should always be bigger IMHO.
5% of each day's earnings for the month's could be held back to create a sat spike. Will feed the Stacker flywheel growth effect too and create a monthly celebration/surprise.

Did some DYOR on Bitwage before I drink myself silly here
  • It seems that Bitwage favours people living in the Western world at present since it empowers people who accept USD, EUR, GBP & CAD in remuneration with the option to accept Bitcoin.
  • But all is not lost if you don’t work for a company that pays the above types of fiat. Bitwage doesn’t just let you accept your salary in BTC. If you are registered with Airbnb or Booking.com, you can implement 100% BTC payouts with Bitwage, where the spread is 1%. Or you can choose partial BTC payment and partial local bank deposit.
  • If you are a freelancer on Fiverr or Upwork, you can also make use of Bitwage, provided that you accept USD, EUR, GBP & CAD as payments.
If your salary isn’t paid out in these four currencies, have you found a way to get onboard with Bitwage?
Looks like its just going to be the three of us hanging out in the saloon today @nemo @orthwyrm
