Ah, oh, I might said this wrong in the past but your comment reminded me that we reward items from the last 36 hours, not 24 hours. So not a bug but a feature :)

This is a very good idea, because of the different time zones we live. 24 hours is not to much, in this case some really good posts / articles missed the zaps of community if it's posted when server have less activity (night), and in the time zone of author is 10 AM for exemple... So...rewards for a 36 hours period is great!

nice Magic line!
curious why the folder called worker? are we all bees:)? 🐝 but it's indeed take POW to make honey:)
reply
it's just a convention to say that background tasks are done by a "worker"
For example, there can be a lot of "workers" in a browser:
Web Workers are a simple means for web content to run scripts in background threads. The worker thread can perform tasks without interfering with the user interface.

Why are we given sats? Can’t we have an alt coin token instead? I can then choose to exchange them for sats. I would rather have 100 stacker-coins than 1 sat.

Seems dead in here again, maybe I can spark a discussion.
We frequently discuss government bans on Bitcoin, drawing parallels to executive order 6112. However, I believe the initial wave of controls we'll see will target real estate ownership. As housing continues to soar to preposterous valuations, the priced out younger generations will increasingly support political parties advocating for stringent measures against those who own multiple homes (investors and landlords).
Maybe there will come a time where owning a house is seen as more risky than holding Bitcoin? And in that case, in what direction do you think that capital will flow?
reply

it already is - others can take away your house but they can never take away your Bitcoin, if you know what you are doing:)

Just getting started. Listened to Rizzo on WBD yesterday and it got me a little excited about ordinals but reminded me also wasn't Rizzo a big blocker? Got the same smarmy vibes and I'm feeling less motivated to learn anything more about them. Still curious because I love scam stories and I also like increasing my stack but the market looks like a nothingburger. The thing is if assets will be on Bitcoin, they're never going to be perfect and they're never going to be consensus-enforced. So maybe worth looking through a few sats to see if any can be sold to a greater fool.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have some signage indicating our "trust"?

but trust is relative, like me trusting you doesn't mean others trust you. 🤔
I guess that's why SN using zap trust
We only consider what we call zap trust currently, which does not factor in stackers zapping you. It factors in stackers zapping things you've already zapped.

I don't know if @sn already calculates the global "trust", but if not, they can do it based on the relative "trusts", I don't know how but they can. :)

Ronald Dahl wrote in his “Danny, the Champion of the World” book that dads must be spunky.
Alas, I’m anything but spunky.
After using the loo, my son pulled all the toilet paper from the rack. From his perspective, he must have found it fun to see the long paper strewn all over the floor. But I was unamused.
I wish I could have focused on the humour on it but bottom line was, I didn’t want to do it again. Without losing my cool, I stated that I was angry and yanked the toilet paper roll off the rack because I didn’t think my wife would want to use it anymore anyway. I just thought it was a waste of resources.
He must have taken me seriously because he said sorry to me. He hardly does that to me. Sorry rolls off his tongue as easily as bees fly to honey, but he is stingy with his apologies with me haha.
What would you do if you were me? Did I overreact?
reply
Keep experimenting with parenthood and use each moment as a moment to reflect, and use as a teaching moment.
They're still learning, but so are we too!
reply
Thanks for your inputs xP Do you consciously reflect at the end of every day or is your reflection incidental - as in something else happens that make you realise something about a previous incident?
reply
Both of these.
On the latter, we're not always able to take everything in at that teaching moment - but all is not lost. In this time we better understand a previous teaching moment and file this away until the time is right.
Days, maybe weeks, later - we find ourselves more able to offer our wisdom in a seemingly off-the-cuff way.
Life lessons, if important, needn't be rushed.

I think it’s because, although slow, they are mighty and win the race through persistence and consistency. They can also be represented with old-school emoticons.
So the ongoing joke I have with @orthwyrm is that if he doesn’t post it’s either because he forgot or the price has gone to 100k and no one told me. We used to race each other to post first in the old Daily Discussion thread and my posts were (and are) my way of encouraging / goading him. No chance of getting in first these days though!

nomad hack of today
Spending winter where people spend their summer, not only it's warmer, you also got all the nice summer houses to choose from, short term available and with such nice prices! and quiet:)
But one of the downsides is that many shops are closed, but then if these shops close during the low season, it's better to avoid them right, going local way is the way.

And I think one simple hack in life is really doing the opposite of others if you want to be free and in peace; I'm not saying just do the opposite in everything, but take the time to think about what's actually better when you do the opposite.
For example, using myself as the guinea pig:
  • Many people work during weekdays; I like to work during weekends and out during weekdays, which is a better experience and less crowded.
  • Many people have a 9-6 job, but I work for myself, more responsibility but more meaningful; And I don't want to offense anyone, but avoid selling your time might be one of the best things you can do - salary is a drug.
  • Many people keep complaining about their home country; I go where people treat me a guest or even spoil me.
  • People travel to stack photos; I explore around to stack experience, skills, knowledge, and connections - these resources could come in handy for any unexpected time, knowing where to go and how to get things from whom is such valuable information.
  • Many people like to live in big cities, but I'm more than happy to live out of cities with better air, cleaner water, quieter and fresher food.
  • Many people like to show off and buy fancy brands; I enjoy crafting my own with the best people I can find, not necessarily cheaper, but quality guaranteed and unique.
  • Many women try so hard to get attention with tons of makeup or even plastic surgeries; I go natural and work on my brain:) isn't it such an easy hack, and more sats 🤓
But of course, nothing is perfect - I share these only to show that there are many possibilities, and it's really fun to explore what's possible out there.

when I was living in istanbul, I kept seeing many beautiful women ( like naturally beautiful ) doing nose jobs or fake lips! I was like, damn, what kind of men would attracted to that, or what kind of men are you trying to attract?
reply
With confidence, I can say that 99.999% of men dislike women with surgeries (nose jobs, boob jobs, fake lips), long fake nails, piercings and tattoos.
Why tattoos? Adding tattoos to a woman is akin to applying stickers to a luxury car like a Porsche or a Bugatti; it detracts from their inherent natural beauty. Very few woman understand this.
reply
nose jobs, boob jobs, fake lips), long fake nails, piercings and tattoos.
I don't find any of these things attractive too, more like trying too hard and superficial!
and once again, the way to win is not to play - there will always be someone have better makeup or crazy "nails, piercings, and tattoos." or whatever new trend that invented by others.
reply
I've also observed that on weekends, most stores and restaurants are closed, and the ones that are open tend to be very busy
rest and chill when others are working, then work "like crazy" when others are on holidays and out in the crowd, like I do deep work during weekends and some simple work during weekdays:) but then it also adapts to my energy level.
eyeliner
It depends! the subtle ones are good, but too much can be "scary."
I have a special attraction for people who have long eyelashes and sharp eyebrows haha:) and I've learned a hack on how to grow the eyelashes naturally - with caster oil, but then I found the water also plays an important part!
