100 push ups a day until 100k is the challenge.
Not sure where it started or who started it but it is making the rounds on Nostr and bitcoin twitter. I committed and did my first 100 yesterday. I am doing them in 4 sets of 25 spread out over the day. I usually lift weights 3-4 times a week, so this is an add on for me.
Any other stackers want to join the challenge?

Cool idea, I'll start with spreading out 10 10's throughout the day.
You should start a daily accountability thread. We can check in when we're done.

Maybe I will add to my Howdy in the saloon or my daily post.

Won't we all be winners?
reply
lol yes all who are I in the challenge!

100 push ups per day until Bitcoin hits 100k in USD, right?
I originally interpreted this as 100 per day until you do 100k of them
reply
Yes. A thousand days in a row of 100 push ups would be pretty impressive. Who knows maybe bitcoin won't hit 100k this bull market and we will be doing push ups until 2029.
reply
lol who knows!
I’ll give it a shot!

Jesus those were the days.

Some advice:
  1. Shitposting daily about your push-ups in the saloon is essential. Your desire to flake out must be exceeded by the pressure of social accountability.
  2. Disabled toilets are an indispensable tool. You will need to space your push-ups throughout the day. Toilets are one of the few secluded areas with enough space that are accessible in most public places.
  3. Remember that the goal is not to get fit, but to do something difficult for the sake of doing it and also because you may be slightly retarded.
Source: Some guy who's done ~4,000 push-ups thus far in the name of a similar challenge, with about half of those done in toilets.

I consider you as the original on this..

It truly works,I usually do 2 sets of 50 reps each and it has worked magic on me

Good to hear.

What does it mean most exactly? Can somebody explain me? Thanks
reply
It means if you want to join the challenge you do 100 push ups every day until the bitcoin price hits 100k.
It's something I saw on Nostr and Twitter so I posted here on SN.
reply
Hm...sounds like a hard challenge :) I could never do 100 push up-s ...Maybe 5 series with 20 push up in each series If BTC could not reach 100k soon, we will be all Arnold Schwarzenegger ;)
reply
You don't need to do them all at once. Do 10 at a time if you want.
reply
I'm in. I've already done my 100 today before I was even aware of this challenge.

How about 10 push ups a day until 10k?

I do like cheap sats.

I was doing 50 for a while and it is being great. I think I can do 100 now. I'm more motivated. And I also want to do 10000 walking steps per day.
reply
I have a streak of 448 days in a row with more than 10k steps. I walk a lot and in the winter if the weather is too bad and don't get enough steps while walking the dog, I will jump on the exercise bike while watching sports at night. The push up streak will be tougher than the walking streak for me.

That is great. Keep doing it! The problem for me is that walking 10k takes more time than the push ups. I should start walking again. I used to do it a lot hiking. Maybe it is easier without the pressure to have to do it every single day. And then we'll see.
reply
I easily get 5k steps a day taking my dog out for walks. Then a couple thousand of normal walking around so it's not that difficult to get to my goal. I have only had a few times in over a year that I almost missed it.
reply
I think you should alternate with squats. Reverse Rows, calf raises and other stuff to stay symmetrical unless your chest and Triceps are agging.
But this is a great thing to do to get started so I don't want to discourage you.

I've got an inflamed heart muscle.
It's a shame I can't participate, for I'm thirsting to feel that crispy burn in my chest again, elevating my heart rate and pumping up my body as a whole- and don't forget that spicy burn in the triceps... Oh Lord oh Lord what have I done to deserve this punishment!
Oh Lord OH LOOORRDDD ‼️‼️‼️
reply
Tough one. Maybe you can get 100 mins of walking in. That would be about 10k steps.

I did start to go on small walks again, but that's about it in terms of what's smart to do for now.
reply
Can you do sets on your knees?
It's all about training.
Go easy on yourself. Do 5 or 10 and just watch your body fall in line.
It's your personal challenge. We are just here to do the same.

It's not that I can't do them physically, it's that I can't have my heart pumping harder than normal; it could damage my heart.
I have to get the inflammation out first.
reply
As long as you are alive that's all that counts! Do what you need to do to keep your motor running. We need coaches, too. A man with no arms and no legs can still see where I might be placing my hands in the wrong place.
Can you push up your hands in the sky?
Do that in solidarity. We would do that after intense push up sets to loosen up and regulate our hearts and breath in basic training.
Anyway, you will find your nut.
Thanks for checking in.

Great idea, count me in. Just did my set of 40 after reading the post. Will go for another 40 in the afternoon and 20 at night. Going for 40-40-20.

Did another 40 an hour ago, and the last 20 just now. Today's 100 done and done. Time for my weekly ice bath now. Hopefully with you guys making accountability threads in the Saloon and with you guys doing this together, I'll hold myself accountable and keep this up. Let's go!

It's generally better to do pushups on an empty stomach
reply
Why is that?
reply
Doing an intensive workout while horizontal can cause acid reflux for some people.
Working out with no food in your reduces the risk of this.

Neat, thanks!

Unless my math is wrong… 100 pushups for 100 days builds up to 10k pushups , not 100k , right?
reply
Oh my bad 100 a day until 100k… so basically 1000 days… 3 years commitment, holy s**t… in 3 years we could be living a very different life lol
reply
I think they mean 100 pushups a day until Bitcoin is priced at $100k. So that could be tomorrow or some other time soon.
