Check our Alby Hub, if you are looking for:
  • lightning wallet with your own node
  • open-source
  • your exclusive ownership of keys (self-custody)
  • onchain redeems and send features
  • app with slick interface
  • access from web browser or other interfaces (Blue, Zeus, BitBanana, Alby Extension)
  • easy channel management
  • NWC full support
  • simple migration process
  • running in the cloud or on your device

Blockstream Green wallet and Alby Hub should be on your list to check out.
My attraction to Blockstream Green wallet is it is stupid simple and works on the desktop. Currently supports BTC on-chain and Liquid. I believe Lightning is forth coming once they get Greenlight integrated.
All of the wallet creators get an "F" in creating usable user documentation in my opinion.

Helm is a Liquid wallet that uses Boltz submarine swaps to disguise itself as a Lightning wallet that even your grandma can use.
reply
Bitcoin only pls not garbage
reply
Did you try it?
reply
Why would I use such useless garbage ? Wasn't enough the Muun crap with submarine swaps? TERRIBLE IDEA! And Liquid is just a distraction.
reply
Well, imho if it doesn't work in Cuba, it's not Bitcoin.
Helm works in Cuba, how about the other options?
Some custodial solutions don't allow accounts from Cuba, and some non custodial solutions are not available on the Cuban app stores.

LOL such a meaningless excuse.
reply
I guess you're not Cuban...
reply
it doesn't matter. Bitcoin doesn't care where is used.
Helm is a Liquid wallet that uses Boltz submarine
Are you the dev? It looks nice....basically like AQUA but as a PWA?
By the way, AQUA recently dropped fees to 40 sats min (Helm is still using 1000 sats). I believe this is result of an upgrade on Liquid network that allowed minimum txn fee to go much lower.
The 1000 sat min was always the thing keeping me from using AQUA as much as Green...but now with a 40sat minimum I may just stick with AQUA. (Green does have desktop wallet which is last remaining sticking point).
reply
I sometimes use side swap for pegging but 40 is very low fee on Aqua
reply
Yes, I'm the dev.
Yes, it's like AQUA but focused on simplicity, so no altcoins.
Yes, it's a PWA, which means it's immune to app store censorship.
There's no server involved, you can run it on your own computer.
You can use Tor for extra privacy.
The 1000 sats as minimum amount for swap is a constraint from Boltz.
Helm also inherits the 0.01 sats/vbyte the Boltz is trying on Liquid, so Helm have the exact same fees as AQUA.

the suggestions below are well-vetted and familiar to most, with a long track record, the most used in the general bitcoiner community, and having the fewest issues.
on-chain wallets: bluewallet. electrum. sparrow.
newbie LN wallet: CoinOS.io web interface.
intermediate LN wallets: Phoenix (avoid or bypass socialist app-stores by getting an android & download apk, or use a VPN). Electrum desktop (opens trampoline channels)
Advanced LN wallets: Zeus Blixt
reply
Is this suggestion the wallet you use?
reply
each user should use at least 2-3 LN wallets. Using only one is dumb. Each wallet app is more suitable for one or another. What I use, maybe is not so suitable for you.... Read here: choose wisely your wallet

Electrum of course!
reply
Zeus is my go to wallet right now.
reply
For Onchain only on desktop, the best is obviously Sparrow with maybe Electrum, even if I almost never use it, it has advanced capabilities that can help sometimes.
For Lightning the most convenient is Phoenix indeed, But recently I've been back to Breez wallet for its increased privacy compared to Phoenix and it seems it's much more reliable than in the past, I like it. Otherwise, obviously Zeus and Blixt for the most advanced and sovereign Bitcoiners among us.
Also you have kind of mixed on-chain / LN wallets. I'm actively trying Bitkit Wallet too which works very well since the v1.0, and is very slick in term of UX. In the same category we could add GreenWallet which allow onchain and LN (and other Liquid stuff) in the same wallet, but the LN part is very unreliable, at least it was the case still few weeks/months ago last time I tried it.
To conclude their is this new category of wallets that do atomic swaps between Liquid and Lightning to avoid managing LN liquidiy, that works well enough IMO I'm talking about Aqua wallet or it's twin but less known BullBitcoin Wallet, which both have of course an on-chain part also.
