News Of The WeekNews Of The Week

Welcome to the Books And Articles newsletter. Thanks for all of the quality posts.

Another good week for the territory. @SimpleStacker gave us the top post, with his expert review of an academic economics paper on bitcoin. I hope this is the first of many. @carlosfandango and @jbschirtzinger gave us particularly good book reviews, @cryotosensei brought back The Shakespeare Book Club, and @02879c7d869 gave us a new short story.
Enjoy!

As always, please reply with suggestions and opinions on how to make this territory better.

Here is another great Bitcoin Journey story, given to us by @realBitcoinDog. In an ordinary week this post would have easily made the Top Five, and there would be no reason for me to highlight it. I can see it received a good deal of engagement already, but if you haven’t red it yet you should.

Don’t ask me how this short story flew under the radar. It’s probably because the stacker is new, and the nym is tough to pronounce. The real @nym, however, recognized the quality. Give it a read. It is now permanently included in the index.

Thanks for mentioning me. Speaking of book clubs, I wish @Se7enZ could come back n resume his book club. I miss the discussions on Stoic philosophy

Yes, @cryotosensei -- been away recently, but I have a stack of books next to me I've been itching to get into, and some more on the wishlist. I don't know if I have the same ambition to to do a full-fledged book club, but perhaps come back slowly with some more reviews.

I feel like if I start a project in public, especially regarding something like Stoic philosophy, I better damn well finish it ;)

reply

So happy to read your message before my bedtime! I await your book reviews xP I’m sure they will be top notch. Hey no pressure 😁

reply

I like Stoicism

reply

Thanks for thinking of me, BTW, and calling me out with a reminder.

I agree. It was great. I think the problem was that the readers needed to make a commitment of time and effort that ordinary stackers here are not willing to make. I own the territory, AND I'm interested in stoic philosophy, but I still didn't find the time to give it the attention it deserved. I fear the same thing is going on with your Shakespeare Book Club.

It’s okay! Writing is its own reward

Thank you for highlighting my Bitcoin story! Did I only just post that this week? 😅

Feels like a lifetime ago! My sense of time right now is wild!

Elizabeth Gilbert famously said, “The days are long, but the years are short.” 😱

Makes me think of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? “The hours are good, but the minutes are long.” Talking about his fiat job 🤣🤣

Very useful roundup. Thanks.

Thanks for the repost! If anyone hasn't read any of my reviews, I suggest this one is one to catch! The book is odd for many noted reasons...
