A recent Goldman report made an eye-catching claim: The S&P 500 will return just 3% a year for the next decade and 1% after adjusting for inflation. Those are only estimates, of course, but they imply a lost decade for stocks and one of the worst stretches since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Going back decades, stocks return around 11% on an annualized basis.

I would like to make a suggestion: Move the donation chooser somewhere off of the Leader Board. Move the statistics on the leader board for posts, comments & etc. up to under the nym on every page. Leave the Leader Board, by itself, on a page just for the Leader Board. This might make it easier to see everything you may want to see, and not have to see the Leader Board, every time.

That there is corruption in Puerto Rico regarding conrtacting for rubbish removal and Federal Funds doesn't surprise me.
I'm not surprised that there is gambling in the Fiat casino.
Puerto Rico for some reason can't handle is own garbage after 400 years of being Puerto Rico? The reason it can't handle government and garbage is that Puerto Rico is not a sovereign state. It's an asset for money laundering, crime and all sorts of nonsense.
Are theyPuerto Rican people unable to governmen themselves? No. But like many places on this planet corruption and easy money make it an attractive task for individuals who are psychotic to ascend the ranks, control the power and have Uncle Sam, The IMF or some Daddy State bless them with Federal Money to keep the graft running.

hey @BlokchainB, are you still using YNAB? Have you started to use the budget feature?
reply
I used it for like 4 or 5 months and then I stopped. It took much of my time to link everything up and reconcile the books. The budget thing never made sense to me. I would blow out my categories all the time but I did like how it tracked expenses. I really liked the pie charts that showed where all my money was going.
Plus I decided to get on zero fiat so it became pointless for me to keep using it.

I'm amazed how the elders who are in their 70s can climb the mountain up and down like it's nothing, and I asked their secret on how to stay healthy and have such energy; they said eating natural food ( grew in their own garden ) and living low stressful life, but the most important thing is to keep being active.
reply
their points seem intuitive, but still I'm curious about the different between a low-stress life and an active life. I think it's hard to distinguish between what gives us energy to keep active and what gives us stress that makes us active as a reaction. Would you say it comes down to pleasure? If your activities give you pleasure or satisfaction, that balances the stress of them?
reply
same for retirement-age rock-climbers! they always warmup & stretch, employ the muscle memory and knowledge of optimal pace, time of day, temperature, body weight, breakfast, etc. whereas newbies (like me) mostly rely on limb strength.

Madison Square Garden (MSG) has a rich history, marked by multiple iterations and locations. The first MSG was opened by P.T. Barnum in 1874 at Madison Avenue and 23rd Street, later replaced by a Beaux-Arts building designed by Stanford White in 1890[1][3]. This second version was demolished in 1925, leading to the construction of MSG III at 8th Avenue and 50th Street, which operated until 1968[4]. The current MSG, opened in 1968, is located above Penn Station and is renowned for hosting major sports and entertainment events[3].

5. Never make an Excuse
You must never give an excuse or a reason in response to ANY of their questions, EVER.
This shifts your status lower than theirs as you feel obligated or responsible to answer them, and give a reason for your dishonour or failings.
reply
Latin excusare "excuse, apologize, make an excuse for, plead as an excuse; release from a charge; decline, refuse, excuse the refusal of" (source also of Spanish excusar, Italian scusare), from ex "out, away" + causa "accusation, legal action."
reply
37 sats \ 1 reply \ @Lux 29 Oct
interesting
"to obtain exemption or release from an obligation or duty; beg to be excused" is from mid-14c.
The weakened sense of "excuse" is attested since 1912, but technically any proof of innocence that doesn't involve being "elsewhere" is an excuse (n.) and not an alibi.
reply
both an alibi and an excuse are pleas. perhaps an alibi is given a stronger consideration, because it's about one party making a plea and another party providing the evidence, whereas an excuse is only one party making a plea.
recently i was suspicious of the word "please" - but it appears that it comes from "pleasure" as in "my will, my wish, my pleasure." so technically saying "please, ____" is an expression of a wish rather than a plea/request.
reply
So nocoiners are lowering their status anyways when they make all the stupid excuses, right? 😂😂😂😂 https://nocoinerexcuse.com/
reply
No, they are just ignorant. That can be cured with knowledge imparted to them. But, it is said, “There are none so blind as those who will not see. And, there are none so deaf who will not hear.” There is nothing you can do about these people. Find someone with eyes and ears and inform them.
