The job of music is to give you a small trip, where it tries to tell you a story, in the smallest amount of time, a story of love, depression, happiness, whatever you want! And that is what makes music beautiful, using drums, guitars, vocals, etc Here's bonus...

During one of my (many) student jobs, i worked in a big Cash & Carry supermarket in December, they had one CD with ten-ish Christmas songs playing for the entire month. It was torture
reply
indeed a torture. It should be introduced in Guantanamo Bay manuals...
Supermarkets should put a sign outside if they want more clients: "No christmas songs inside our establishment".

To me music is beautiful because without using words it can describe emotions that are difficult or impossible to put into words. I'm definitely not saying it always does, but the language of music is capable of it.
reply
Music is beautiful because it contains the rules of mathematics. If there is no mathematics in music, it is just noise, not music.
reply
Not all music is beautiful but the music that is beautiful causes the release of the hormone dopamine to make us feel good.
reply
Different from everyone else but it is correct.
Not all music is beautiful.
reply
Sometimes there is beauty in something ugly, right? Depends in the listener.. like something that is loud abrasive heavy metal could be completely beautiful to one person and horrible to another.
reply
True. I did post a Slayer song in the Daily Music Discussion today. I don't necessarily think it is a beautiful song. It's beauty comes from being ugly.
reply
I like a lot of dark and ugly things. Helps give me perspective which is beautiful in a way. Slayer is great. I saw them at 99 ozzfest. It was insane.. the crowd rushed the stage when slayer came out and the place was completely out of control. I don't think that sort of things happens anymore. It was an amazing experience that makes me miss the 'good ol days'.

I never saw them live. I was big into heavy metal as a teen. I don't listen to metal too much anymore but once and awhile a song pops into my head and I need to revisit my roots.
reply
Yeah. I never was super into heavy metal. But I do like some heavy industrial type stuff.. I was more into Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, stuff like that. That show was amazing though.. legendary line up that year. Now that I am older, I tend more towards calmer music.

Music so so beautiful because everything is vibrations. And audible vibrations is the easiest way for us to experience that vibration in a physical form. Our ears can feel the oscillations that make the waves of everything. It's our closest connection to the everything. And we all have the ability to create it also, with our voice, our wind, our percussive movements. It is the best way to communicate, translate and transmute emotion, a universal language. It's how we relate. Music is literally all around us. It is everything to me. Great question. 💚
reply
Thanks. Great explanation!
reply
It transforms visual and emotional moments to truly multi-sensory experiences and sets the scene... the opening theme of Michael Caines film 'Get Carter' by Roy Budd for example.
But the beauty of music lies in its power to evoke emotion and hold you rapt.... and then destroy you utterly. Using the same theme tune to advertise a f**king Honda diesel minivan for example.
reply
Thanks. I think you've answered how powerful music is, am I right?
reply
‘But the beauty of music lies in its power’
Bike of both I guess lol

Music is essentially vibrations. You might think that you hear it, but its more that you feel it.
That's why.
reply
Music is so beautiful because it speaks a language words can't. it’s the universe talking to your soul. It’s not just sound, it’s emotion, memory, and something deeper we can’t explain, but somehow we all feel it.
I never participated here, but couldn't resist answering this question lol.

Music reaches deep into our spirit, which is why it is so beautiful.
reply
A good song is the crystallisation of complex emotions intertwining and interweaving with one another like a solid bamboo basket. As we listen to the singer reach into the recesses of his/her soul, we accompany his/her musical journey and feel our own emotions reach a resounding crescendo. Then our emotions, having been released, simmer down like the waters of a placid lake. We may be left with tears or heave a sigh of relief - it’s like having an orgasm of the senses.

There is a song that can brighten any mood . A song can bring back memories good and bad . Music is life

And music is beautiful because is math. And math is beautiful because is music. And music is beautiful because is math. And math is beautiful because is music. And music is beautiful because is math.

Music is beautiful because it is oour regular dopamine fix. It is habit forming. It forms a beautiful garden inside our hearts.
reply
Music is beautiful for it is as if comedy. It is enabling us to laugh without laughing. It is not entering our ears. It is entering our soul. Which is why it it beautiful.
reply
Music is so beautiful as it allows us the process of introspection. Every time we listen to music we discover something about ourselves until it is fully grown inside our thoughts.
reply
I believe music touches our souls by combining mathematical patterns with raw emotion in a universal language that transcends words.
reply
Music is beautiful primarily because it diverts our attention to the unseen portal for a few minutes which soothes our mind to appreciate it more.

A music is beautifull cause it touchs your vibration, it resonates in your body. Regarding your energy level (heart beat), you wil be more attrack from one to another, at the end your taste. It will touch your emotions (generating any kind of emotions joy, tear, sadness, angry, power...). It will touch your body and energy with goose bumps, want to shoot, want to dance, wants to destroy... Also it s will touch your mind as it will create and remind your souvenirs (period of your life, friends, family, girl friend, party/concert, holidays...).
reply
Borderless language communicated by vibrations. Instruments are only limited to creativity. I'm always impressed by all the different ways vocalists use their instrument with varying techniques across genres, be it an individual's proficiency or techniques like throat signing/metal vocals. It's crazy how much variation just vocal cords can manage.
Personally, I find this question incredibly difficult to answer for some reason.

Music is what connects us with both our physical and spiritual being, music is our essence, it is our life.

Music is the most beautiful panacea ever developed by Homo sapiens sapiens. It only lasts for a few minutes. But this is the only cure that really works.
reply
Music is beautiful because it praises God.
1 Ch 16:4-7 ¶And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, and to record, and to thank and praise the Lord God of Israel: 5. Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed–edom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals; 6. Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God. 7. ¶Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the Lord into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
