What is wrong with seed oils? I make my own cashew butter and almond butter from scratch. Is olive oil a seed oil? Isn't that one of the healthiest things you can eat?
More meat = healthy?? I've read the opposite. Red meat is listed by the WHO as a class 2 carcinogen meaning "Might cause cancer" not to mention eating meat increases risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Alkaline water? Just drink water who cares what PH it is. Also stealing honey from bees doesn't make you healthy.
reply
Olives are fruit. Very tasty.
reply
From what I’ve learnt olive oil is ok
I also like some nut butters
Not sure if I trust the WHO with food
Lots of benefits to alkaline water and trying to keep your body in an alkaline state supposedly cancer won’t grow in an alkaline state
Also many benefits to raw unprocessed honey
Did you have any tips or just not stoked on the stuff I’m doing?
reply
Well, basically, my tips are that some of your tips are misleading.
-Eating meat is not proven to be healthy, and there are numerous studies linking (particularly red meat and processed meat) consumption to certain cancers and increased risk of diabetes and heart disease. After a cursory google search, I'm looking at a study done by the National Library of Medicine. Is that a better source for you than the World Health Organization? Or is any study from a major organization now conspiracy because it opposes your world view?
-Seed oils are not inherently unhealthy. Massive amounts of any kind of oil in a diet are unhealthy, but seed oils specifically are actually one of the healthier oils (I'm looking at you Ghee, lard.. etc) Saying "No seed oils" is not saying much other than "No potatoes" which, sure, to a person who eats bags and bags of Doritos every day, yes, they should cut back on potatoes - but no, potatoes aren't unhealthy.
-Honey is just bee vomit. It's mostly sugar (which you claim that we should eat less of? But then say eat more in honey? Huh?) and water. while it has some antibacterial properties it's not a good idea to eat it, because it then kills the bacteria in your stomach, which can cause stuff like IBS IBD Crohns. Same reason peppermint oil is bad for the stomach.
There are some benefits of honey. But do those benefits justify: -Farming colonies of insects -Risk getting stung when some people have severe allergies -Buying special equipment to not get stung -Crushing some of them in the process of harvesting -Maiming the wings of the queen bee to trap the colony to serve us like we're playing God...
Just buy some maple syrup or stevia. Honey doesn't cure cancer.
My list would be this: No processed food of any kind🛢 Raw fruits and vegetables Less meat 🥩 More superfoods Exercise daily 💪🏼 Clean water 💧

Good list !
I would add: (1) Short eating window (intermittent fasting) (2) Less or no sugar (3) Turmeric
reply
Oh, yes, intermittent fasting! I loved it when I did it but some while ago, I stopped ... don't know the reason anymore.
But I want to start again, it was so refreshing. Do you do it consistently? So every day without any breaks?
Never heard of turmeric before.
reply
Yep, for me, no breaks. Keeping it simple.
Start eating everyday at noon, stop eating by 6:30p.
The only real issue is, sometimes it's tough to schedule breakfast meetings, but these days, almost everyone I meet for brunch know of my schedule, so it's all good.
For the stop eating by 6:30p part... that also gets tricky so I do cheat, sometimes, but limit it to no more than once a week - and whenever I do, I stack 2x the sats I usually do :P - no exception.
Turmeric in its raw form is inexpensive, I think tablets vary depending on the brand. Benefits as follows: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/top-10-evidence-based-health-benefits-of-turmeric
Stay healthy, guys !
reply
Ah yes I forgot about those I do the first two haven’t upped my turmeric yet
reply
Good stuff.
Depending on where you are, it's tough to stay away from sugar / processed meat. But, there is absolutely no excuse to eat throughout the day...
Good luck man, let's see what other SN'ers have to say, looking forward to your list revised list :)
reply
No matter where you are in the world, you can always avoid processed meat, which is labeled a class 1 carcinogen (in the same category as Asbestos) by the WHO. Never eat processed meat, it's like smoking cigarettes.
Eat literally anything else, preferably some nice whole foods, like leafy green vegetables.
reply
True that, bruh.
