Surprisingly I just realized that I won the meme monday.

and the biggest surprise was seeing 10k in Cowboy Credits.

I don't want to be a fucking ungrateful person, but... Cowboy credits?

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually laughing at this. It was pretty funny. The scene looked like this: I go to SN, see the notification and BOOM! I see that I won the meme monday, it was WTF, I can't believe it. Next thing I know: I see 10k Cowboy credits and I start laughing. Then I text my husband and tell him I won meme monday. And now I'm writing these words.

I thought the daily rewards and Monday and Friday prizes would still be in SATS. Again, I don't want to make a big deal out of it, but I think SATS are a better prize, because these are useful in the real world, you can't imagine how much those Sats can help the stacker who wins them.

I have another question, how many Cowboy credits are in circulation? How many of them will exist in total? It's a joke.

I dont think CCs are bad on SN. That means you will keep it in SN. There was also talk about the reward being lowered. Dont worry, it just gives you a chance to use them instead of sats for a little while.

There are a lot of scammers who only post on SN to win contests and zap each other so they are just assmilking us, so we decided to use CCs for them. We will also decrease the bounty soon.

Sorry that honest stackers also suffer from that decision. But 10k sats at current prices for memes or facts was too much anyway.

We'll show that in analytics soon so everybody can see that the supply does not necessarily increase but can also decrease since 30% of each zap is "burned" for territory revenue and rewards.

We didn't "decide" to use CCs for them really. It's just a consequence of the changes because the bot that pays them can only use CCs without further changes.

If 30% of zaps, including CC zaps, gets converted into revenue and rewards, which can be paid out in sats, would it be correct to say that CC are like sat IOUs (i.e. SN backs them with real sats), but with the caveat that users can't simply redeem them for sats, they only become sats under special conditions (like payouts of revenue and rewards)?

Yes, I had read about the reduction in the sats reward value, I even thought that starting this Monday it would be a smaller reward.

Oh, I see, they're cheating. Is there a way to set conditions for participation? For example, only those who have made X amount of posts (of value) in the week can participate?

I too. But I don't really see it happening in near future. Maybe after a few months or next year or when SN has a many many stackers. You get rewards a.k.a. SN Gift Cards/vouchers.

This is a weird question because aren't deciding to create CCs. They are only created when sats can't be used, because zappers and zappees have insufficient lightning setups, or when someone buys them. 1 CC costs 1 sat to create in either situation. And, the half-life of 1 CC is less than two zaps. Meaning every time one CC is zapped, 30% of it ends up in rewards where it'll be paid out as 30% of one sat. After two zaps, that CC is half a CC and the other half is half a sat in the rewards pool. Also, every time a CC is spent on posts/comments/boost/poll voting too, 100% of it ends up as a sat in rewards (hence a half-life "less than" two zaps). So, as lightning setups improve, the amount of CCs in "circulation" will trend to zero because they are constantly being turned into sats through rewards and they won't need to be spontaneously created anymore.

If CCs are upsetting you, and you haven't had the time to read the threads about them and still think we're "printing" them and "putting them in circulation" or something, it might be worth taking a break from SN until we've done the work required to prevent this confusion.

I ask this because I am ignorant about it, I don't know how it works. I don't mean to offend. I understand that you are under a lot of pressure right now, there are too many things to deal with that I can't even imagine the magnitude, and on top of that you have to add your personal lives. I apologize if at any point I made you feel bad or that I was attacking your work. I think there are some threads that I have missed, I will look for them and read them carefully. Regarding SN's break, that is also an option on the table.

Fuck these CCs! It feels like there are no sats in circulation anymore.

Since I get CCs more than sats I try to get ride of them by zaping the CCs away again. But being a circular economy they are always coming back and even double it feels.

Haven't gotten any real sats today so far...

If you disconnect your external wallet for sending, then you zap with CCs. Or if the peer you are zapping doesn’t have a wallet, then you zap with CCs. If you and your peer both have wallets, then you zap with sats.

Yeah, I guess it was an easy test once I zapped a comment. Still curious if I zap CCs, does the receiver always get CCs, or do they sometimes get sats (depending on if they're Lightning wallet is already hooked up to SN or not)?

My intention is not to be rude or hateful, I understand that CCs have a positive use, but I did not imagine CC as a reward, for a few minutes I thought about it and thought it would be something obvious, but in reality I think that most would prefer them to be sats. It is a dilemma.
