I just finished this week's crossword puzzle!

-Just started exploring Canvas inside of Obsidian. I'll hopefully be using it to create an e-book of everything I wrote last year.
-I'll be connecting my own private node to SN very soon. In the midst of figuring out the tiny details (hopefully with the help of some great guides already posted on SN)
-Working on two interviews with musicians from Latin America that will be published sometime in the first quarter of this year.
-Working on a couple of audio post-production projects that crossed my desk or were pending.

I look forward to reading your e-book!
reply
You're unknowlingly challenging me.
Most of what I wrote last year was shared under my birth name, and I was going to share the e-book in the same way. Lately though, I had been thinking maybe I can do both. I'm almost sure the writings can be edited to preserve my privacy and still be shared with the community on here. It'll be an interesting project to undertake.

I finally set up a Ride The Lightning service on my lightning node. I was raw dogging it from the command line for the last 4 months. Great learning experience! But not very user friendly.

Too much with too little time. Currently I'm close to attaching a private LN node to SN I just need to make sure I can keep liquidity in the channel before I move forward, so I'm doing some studying on that.
I also decided that on going to go from windows to Linux, so I'm currently looking into that, but I fit a lot of great feedback from SN.
Unfortunately, trucking is a busy job, im putting in usually 55+ hours a week so I dont have as much time for side projects as I would like.
reply
I talked to a trucker one day. I asked him about the loneliness of the job. He said he wouldn't trade the satisfaction he gets from the job for anything else in the world. He said most truckers love their job. He said he knows many many other truckers and they will meet up at random gas stations nearby highways, chat up before sleeping overnight and hitting the road again. That was in Europe. Same for you?
EDIT: we should start an ~AMA series on fascinating but random day-to-day jobs~~
reply
I used to be over the road and live in the truck. It was actually incredibly lonely for me. Now I work in LTL (Less than full load). I do probably 20 stops a day locally. I work 10 to 12 hous a day but I get to go home to my wife every night.
I would do an AMA, but I'm not sure how interesting being a trucker is, I was however, the 2006 time magazine person of the year, so maybe that would be worth doing an AMA about.

  • Currently grinding my first week back at work, thankfully I have 1.5 days of work left before the weekend.
  • Created a new spreadsheet for tracking 2025 finances.
  • Renewing insurance for the year ahead, already feeling burned out by the process so will probably push it back till next week.

Mostly admin. I've also mostly been mentally recovering from the year-in-the-making release and responding to the fallout of it.
Back to more productive work today though:
  • code review (lots of great stuff I've been struggling to stare at)
  • planning a couple refactors so we can sprint on territories the rest of the year
  • updating docs
