Not noticeable for zaps ( it can be sent from l-btc address to l-btc address at 0.1 satoshi/vByte )
Also not noticeable for withdrawing or depositing lightning since the submarine swap fees are too small to matter. It just feels like a regular lightning tx fee.
Samson Mow is behind Aqua Wallet and there's no need for channel management because the funds really get settles on bitcoin's sidechain L-BTC.
I have an idea to solve this. Replicate the Aqua Wallet model
It's non-custodial, you can still send and receive lightning payments but everything gets settled on a non-custodial liquid bitcoin wallet through submarine swaps.
This model is way more efficient than Muun because submarine fees are basically non-existent in Liquid.
Plus, zapping users to user without using confidential transactions is basically free.
They should be running those automatic submarine swaps in Liquid.
Their model doesn’t work on L1 with high fees.
How?
- Muun hosts the Lightning Wallet but it credits you on Liquid on every transfer ( automatic submarine swaps ) minus fees ofc.
- No need to do peg-ins-outs on every transaction. They just need to have a mirrored amount of liquidity on each network and rebalance occasionally.
Sure. But it's still pretty great opsec if you are operating from a cafe, public-wifi or from a Tails laptop running the Mullvad browser.
After my first BULL-BEAR cycle I have finally understood the words of wisdom:
Stay Humble & Stack Sats
It is important to remember that Mullvad NEVER ASKS for personal information.
- You don't even need to create an account
- You can pay up with BTC/XMR
Even if they get the servers there's no information going back to you.
Interestingly enough TOR is implementing proof-of-work to combat DDOS/Spam from the network.
The fight is pointless.
Why would anyone trust a centralized coordinator anyway?
Just use Joinmarket
The issue with having a custom "kind" for the marketplace is that many relays will not allow it in order to prevent any liability.
Also, switch the argument from the usage of the energy to the sourcing of the energy. Emissions are not generated at the last-mile.
Energy scarcity is a backwards mentality.
We don't want less energy, we want more.

Stealth addresses. Silent payments is working on this. Essential to have static addresses that can’t be censored like in the truckers protest.
-
Wallet API. We have plenty of custodial clients but not a single api-fied one. We need the Stripe for Lightning where devs don’t have to manage liquidity/channels. Lightspark is working on this but it is super expensive.

Nostr Reddit. For the love of god somebody please buy the “no.st” domain so we can have forum discussions ala Reddit style http://no.st/r/
I just bought NostrComments.com
- I'm building a Chrome/Firefox extension that lets you comment on any website on the open web.
- This is important because it's increasingly common for the media to disable comments on controversial pieces.
- Comment on any youtube video, any news article, any tweet with blocked replies, etc. Alll over NOSTR in a decentralized way.
There's like levels to this stuff:
- Custodial ( or hosted ) wallet
- Single sig non-custodial regular wallet
- Single sig hardware wallet approach
- Multisig
- Collaborative Multisig with Failsafe ( AKA Casa Bitcoin )
- Qualified Institutional Custodians like Coinbase / BitcoinSuisse
- Fully Insured Custodians like Knox Custody
All depends on your risk profile.
