i was wondering when jb was going to blow.
i've been in a wait-and-see mode with nostr because it got incredibly top heavy once dorsey dragged all the podcaster/influencer/grifters into it.
protocols are fragile things especially when they lack self-structuring incentives. the last thing you want to do is let otherwise talentless people with high political-IQs deploy the incentives.

This isn't really a response to your comment, so much as the thoughts it inspired in me.
I wish I had a good framework in my mind for understanding all this. For instance, Shocknet's post (#1275977) makes a good point about Ark that I had not considered before (we talk about Ark - the protocol - like we talk about Lightning - the network - but Ark - the network - is a closed network while LN is open. Maybe even: the equivalent to joining the Lightning Network and opening a channel in Ark is starting your own ASP) and clearly this is an important difference.
Does it mean we shouldn't use Ark? or that we should talk about it differently?
Nostr feels open like LN, but the way primal runs its caching server...doesn't sound as open. Does it mean one should switch to clients that are more "true" to the original nostr idea, or just that we should use different language to talk about what using nostr via primal is?

Yesterday, I witnessed first hand the university politics of how woke departments gather power on campus. Through bullying and intimidation.
They showed up in force at our committee meeting to take down a curriculum proposal by another department. They had clearly preplanned it before hand. The whole thing was scripted: a coordinated ambush. Their chief objection was that you can't use the word "justice" unless we approve of how you're using it.
Mafia like behavior.

Do the yes voters here genuinely believe a fork will happen, or are they enticed by the off-chance of 100x their initial bet, and it's just some degen gambling?
I hope the market creator is enjoying some good fees. This seems like one of the biggest and most active markets I've seen on Predyx.

Ordering aprons for my schoolโ€™s food waste project helped me come up with an original idea. I took one apron from my sci lab technician and pasted two concept maps drawn by my students earlier this week. In colour, no less.
Just as you might have expected, the students, especially the ones responsible for the concept maps, were tickled pink by my unexpected appearance. Taking them by surprise made it easier for me to recap the main concepts of the water cycle.
A colleague who walked past me later was intrigued enough to take a photo of the apron with the two concept maps, thus proving that I was the most creative teacher alive.
