I have a few questions about the new SN format regarding subs:
  1. Am I correct to assume that when viewing posts, selecting 'home' will show posts from bitcoin and nostr subs, but not jobs sub?
  2. If the creator of a post selects the wrong sub initially, that post will remain in the incorrect sub? The reason I ask is that just now I saw a few nostr content posts in the bitcoin sub. If the poster makes this mistake, can it only be corrected during the edit period?
Maybe we need rewards for content moderation? (Only talking about putting posts in the right sub, you can put your pitchforks away, haha)
I think honest moderators will win over malicious moderators since cooperation between malicious moderators will be harder than honest moderators just following "the truth" / their gut feeling. Kind of like in bitcoin.
Just thinking out loud, not sure if this approach is a good idea...
I just don't want @k00b having to do a lot of manual moderation work. This won't scale. And he will become a target for controversial decisions + risk to become a benelevont dictator.

In general, if people aren’t labeling their posts right, maybe subs aren’t the right content grouping mechanism.
Maybe we shouldn’t have content groups at all and have a more twitter like feed (using WoT).

depends on which problem we are trying to solve:
  • do we want to show users what we think they want to see? (or web of trust says, they should want to see)
  • do we want users to decide what they want to see? then we need better search and thus tagging content / putting them into subs
so a twitter like feed is orthogonal to subs, I would say

Worth thinking through

Maybe putting content correctly into the right sub can be solved using AI 👀
I assume AI is already advanced enough to do tasks like this with a high rate of success. And false positives can then be fixed manually.

I saw a few nostr content posts in the bitcoin sub
People don't pay attention to details. Are just bots not using their brain.
The drop down sub should force the user to select one, not to be auto-filled. People are so lazy that don't bother to make that selection.

Very good suggestion!
However, I realized there are only three options: Bitcoin, nostr, jobs
Now the argument that you can indeed post anything here is weakened :/

I think this a good suggestion too.

Good point. This sort of goes to my question about the use of "Home" in the dropdown. Is that a catch-all? It seems to include bitcoin and nostr, but not jobs. Maybe a non bitcoin or nostr post could be considered a generic "home" post, and then @DarthCoin's suggestion could be used.

I missed this. Thanks

Agreed the sub should be editable.
