Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.

Hurrah! Celebrating Holi, The Festival of Colors.

Happy Holi to all my dear friends on SN.

Hey Freaks,
Imagine being a huge music fan,..........and having a button that zaps your favorite song of the moment. V4V isnt priced in. If Third Eye Blind had V4V set up, TheWildHustle would be poor, own nothing, but would certainly happy.

Ha great band! I saw them in the medwest in the early 2000’s for the first time! Great band!

No take backs
reply
0 sats \ 1 reply \ @ek 24 Mar
it's technically an abort, not a "take back". we just call it undo for UX reasons.
does this change something for you?
reply
Nope, as a kid we would say “no take backs” and TheWildHustle was in a childish mood.
reply
If the custom Zap form is open, when the undo Zap countdown ends, the form closes automatically. Is this a bug or a feature?

it's a bug that I fixed in the linked PR (see third video)

Feature request: the internal server error plays the Alice movie but all the way through and keeps track of where it left off with each downtime.
(Maybe an easier way to do this is that it shows a page of the book, but sequentially, so that I can read my way through Alice over the next three or four years as you all have occasional downtime.)

Setup a Mutiny Wallet this weekend finally. Just sent this to @benthecarman and @TonyGiorgio:
No lie, it's the best noncustodial lightning wallet I've used. The UX is phenomenal and so so thoughtful and everything just worked. It also feels so simple in a deep way, like it's native if that make sense. It's how I feel when I'm using a mainstay unix command.
@wefofficial are you responsible for how minimal the homescreen is? It's genius IMO especially after experiencing so many other wallets that always feel overwhelming. It has only four buttons: three of them that I'd regularly care to use and an 'other' button (ie settings). I feel at peace when I'm using it which is such a weird thing to say, but it's true.
reply
Appreciate those kind words! Let us know if you run into any hiccups or have any suggestions.
@wefofficial is indeed responsible for how minimal it is, and he's also responsible for the complete redesign of the home screen in a few weeks 😂
Hopefully it's not too jarring and still has a minimal feel. We're leaning more heavily into a social payments design.
reply

Don't ruin my Zen! :) But I'm looking forward to it. I'll have to get some more sats on it while fees are low.
reply
This is helpful feedback though. I would really like to know if your opinion has changed after the home screen redesign.
We're at a potential pivot point and it's all going to dictate based on user feedback over the next few months. The "simple, just works" vs "fully loaded social payments, Venmo style UI" is pretty much the pivot point. We might keep going as is and improve on both, or zoom in on one or the other.

It sounds exciting. You nailed the wallet experience so well I'm sure you'll find the balance with social payments too.

Today’s attempt at orange pilling over in the larger part of the world which isn’t Stacker News:
Control of money strengthens control of the economy. Control of the economy strengthens control of the people.
Imagine we could flip the script by actualising Hayek’s words:
“I don’t believe we shall ever have a good money again before we take the thing out of the hands of government, that is, we can’t take them violently out of the hands of government, all we can do is by some sly roundabout way introduce something they can’t stop.”

It's the great mystery of human life that old grief passes gradually into quiet tender joy. The mild serenity of age takes the place of the riotous blood of youth.

The whole society keeps emphasizing how important it is to make money, buy big houses, gain social status, be pretty, dress well, use makeup, but deep down, all of these simply for one purpose: finding a good partner.
Yet we are barely taught how to be self-aware, how to communicate better, how to form deep connections, and how to sustain long-term happiness.

You have one life to live. Define your own happiness. Define it, envision it. Then go get it! You get what you work for not what you dream of!

Interesting fun fact: turkish people do not use shampoo but they have many clinics for hair implants, for all westerners that are using heavily shampoo.
Maybe this is a turkish conspiracy? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

oh, modern Turks use all the chemical shampoo too! 🤣 even the soap was developed in this region so early, shame...but I guess due to stress and bad tap water ( especially in İstanbul ), so many men tend of lose their hair too.
