USA and other NATO nations created an untenable Ukraine by dangling EU and NATO membership. They did this knowing this would anger and provoke Russia.
Mearsheimer who is an expert on Russia and Soviet Union history is demanding the West stay out of Ukraine and that Ukraine should be a neutral nation like Switzerland.

That is happening everywhere. Some people just don't want to fight. Millions of Russians are leaving their country too. Still have Russian friends in Moscow, they are planning to leave, it's just not so simple right now, leaving Ukraine is simpler.

NATO membership wasn't idea back in the day, whole thing was about association agreement with EU.
Ukraine itself has potential to become regional great power. That's, I think, is one of the reasons why military aid is given only for Ukraine not to lose, not enough for the fast win. As militarily Ukraine already could beat Germany, for example (they destroyed more Russian tanks in the first week of full scale Russian invasion than German army has in working condition).

His view is not propaganda. He opposed NATO enlargement in the 1990s and today
