This week we head to Vancouver Island where we went on a short hike near Port Alberni, BC to see the Hole in the Wall. To get to Vancouver Island, however, requires you to take a ferry from the mainland. The trail to the hole is a short 2.4km out and back hike with minimal elevation gain. It is a very easy hike which my youngest son, who was 3 years old at the time, completed the whole hike on his own. The trail is obvious and clearly marked and it is a short 10 minute walk to get from the trailhead to the hole in the wall.

We reached the hole after a short 10 minute walk.
When we reached the destination, we saw water flowing through the hole. We were able to walk around the creek and get close to the hole. Along the shallow creek and the rock wall, there were quite a few stone stacks probably built by past visitors. We took our time to take some photos and let our kids play in the creek before heading back.

Lovely and nice to see your kiddos walking together. I have a couple of pics of my son and daughter like that where big brother is holding little sisters hand as they stroll along the trails in our area. I love those pics. Stack sats and stack memories.

My wife loves taking pictures of our backs and I love a lot of these back photos that she takes. By the way, a lot of the photos in my hiking posts were actually taken by my wife. I'm not really a photo guy and like to just look at things, but she loves taking photos.
