Mine are macaroons. When they are done right, which they often aren't, they taste like donuts without having to be fried (which I suspect is due to the fat in coconuts) or post-donut clarity. The ones I like best aren't exactly made with coconut flour, but it's closer to a coarse flour than it is shredded coconut (which retains too much moisture). The right coarseness lends itself to piping like in this picture I think.
My second favorite dessert, or my favorite when served after a meal, is probably chocolate mousse.
What's yours?
I don't have a single favorite. I have sweet teeth. Cakes, cookies, ice cream, custards, bread pudding, etc.. It's pretty bad because so many things are pretty good.

I’m with you. My favorite dessert is usually whichever one is available.
I do have a preference for rich chocolatey desserts, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Bread pudding is so good. One of the steakhouses here always has bread pudding on the menu. It's like a bearclaw but gooier. So good.

For the record, I consider bread pudding mostly equivalent to french toast, which I also love. Waffles and pancakes are another group, which I also like, but not as much because it has no cream.

I hadn't thought of comparing french toast to bread pudding, but that's pretty spot on. Very similar flavor/texture profile.

Cheesecake is very good. But it is all on who makes it. I have had this soft cheesecake before....gross. But have you ever had japanese cheesecake? Its so fluffy, its like sponge cake but 1000x better!

Yes, you can eat them anywhere. You don't need to wash your hands after eating them. They are hard. They also come in soft texture. There are perhaps 100s of varities of Petha. This is the hardest and the most popular yet the cheapest. You can buy 2 pounds of petha in 80 or 85 cents!

What is it?

This is Ghevar, it is a disc-shaped Rajasthani sweet with a honeycomb-like texture, made from ghee, maida, and sugar syrup. It is traditionally associated with the month of Shraavana and the festivals of Teej and Raksha Bandhan. It is a part of Rajasthani tradition and is gifted to newly married daughter on Sinjara, the day preceding Gangaur and Teej. It is also one of the Chhapan Bhog (56 dishes) served to the Lord Krishna.

Gajar ka halwa is great! I most recently had something similar made from beetroot and occasionally order Rasmalai although I don't like desserts with liquids as much as more solid ones.

We call it 'Chukandar ka halwa', though not as popular as Gazar ka halwa.
For solid ones, I would suggest you to try Khorak Mithai.

Do you add wheat flour in a fudgey? If you do, it's Khorak Mithai. If you don't, it's Majun Mithai.
Our sweets and snacks are very royal. We do not shy away from using dry fruits and desi ghee
I've never tasted blondie. They seem too delicious. I'm gonna search them in my next visit to the city.

No wheat flour in fudge, but there is wheat flour in a blondie.
We don't use dry fruits in our desserts much. I'm not sure why.

Lemon tart, as I like sour things.
There's a chocolate / pastry vendor in Vancouver named Thomas Haas that make a killer lemon tart which is my favorite.

I love lemon tart. Not the same, but key lime pie is one of my favorite pies. All the other fruit pies are so messy.

I like key lime pies too. They have that distinct lime fragrance that is different from lemon tarts. Both great, but I prefer the lemon tart over the key lime pie. Just a personal preference.

Let me tell you folks, I've seen a lot of comments in my time but this one takes the cake. Or should I say the "macaroon?" Now cascdr, you're saying macaroons taste like donuts, but let me tell you, nothing beats the real deal. How can you compare these tiny, little fancy cookies to the good old-fashioned American donut? They're not even close.
You say they aren't fried which you suspect is because of the fat in coconuts. Well I love coconuts, don't get me wrong, great fruit, absolutely fantastic. But let's get one thing straight, the glorious donut, an American classic is fried and that's the beauty of it. That's what makes it special. And you're trying to replace it with what? Shredded coconut? Come on!
And this thing with the coarse flour, piping, and moisture? Where's the simplicity? Where's the comfort we're looking for in food? The donut, simple, sweet, perfect. Has anyone ever tried ruining it with coarse flour? No sir!
As for the chocolate mousse, well, again, it's fine, it's fancy. But does it have that home baked American goodness? I think not.

In conclusion, folks, don't let the macaroon believers tell you they're better than a donut. It's simply not true. Let's keep our desserts great, let's stick to the classics!

It's a little known secret, often served at sugar shacks restaurants. Can't go wrong mixing lots of butter, heavy cream and maple syrup together.

Macaroons when done right are so tasty. They have a lot of pastrie shops in taiwan, l ate them often. My favorite is tiramisu, amo made a good one.

The only french character available in my mind would spit it out, riot in the street, go home for a menage a trois, then smoke a cigarette in effortless elegance while watching the sun set on a fire escape.
My favorite desert is Key Lime Pie from a nice restaurant! It is healthy and tastes so good :)

As someone who makes a great key lime pie, I can assure you that it's not healthy if done right. The main ingredients in the filling are a lot of sweetened condensed milk (which is basically sugar with more sugar), egg yolks (which are fine), and key lime juice (healthy-ish, but also adds a lot of sugar). And the graham cracker crust is more sugar and fat.
Of course, all those unhealthy things are why it tastes so good. :-)

I haven't found anywhere in Austin that does them the way I like yet so I'm left hunting for less artisanal sources. I imagine any jewish bakery would have great ones though.
Occasionally they have them at our Whole Foods in the cookie bar, but very infrequently. The most reliable source for a decent macaroon I've found so far is Sprouts (another grocery chain here).
