Mhh, wondering if I should use a flea market to get rid of some stuff. It's next weekend and it's 27€ for a spot.

Would probably be a cool experience to try to sell stuff that I'd actually be happy to just get rid off.

In 2017 after the fork, I wanted to get rid of all my past relation with fiat and start a full cleanse: closing bank accounts, withdraw all the money from any account, pension funds, savings and buy more BTC.

Then I start selling anything that I do not need, for whatever price, I sold a car, a bike and all the crap I had in the garage.

My house was full of computers and parts and all kind of gadgets and crap that I didn't used anymore. So I sold them all, for sats, for fiat and then exchange all for more BTC.

Make a good attractive price and never look back with nostalgia about those crap things. Don't be greedy, be happy when somebody will buy your crap.

I recently thought of doing the same thing. I wouldn't even call some of the stuff crap. I have a lot of great books, in good condition, that I have already read or just weren't to my taste. I have been thinking of setting up some kind of page to sell them for sats. I'm thinking of maybe trying Agora territory here. I haven't found time yet.

I would not sell all books. Some of them (even that you read it) could be left as a "legacy". ofc not all worth keeping them if you have too many.

In this digitized era we are living, I am sure many of them you can still have them in digital format. But IMHO a 10% "buffer zone" I would keep in hard copy, selecting the most important ones (for you).

Like @0xbitcoiner said in our "survival game" discussion... a book with all the tips and tricks to survive in a fucked up world, is always good to have. A pdf or epub if you do not have batteries anymore, is totally useless.

And as for my books, I could never sell them all. I'd definitely hold onto my favorites.

@DarthCoin, does splicing make the need to create big channels obsolete? With splicing, one can start with a small channel and later expand when needed, no? Especially in the context of private channels not meant for routing.

Yes and no. Yes is easier to start with a small channel if the user do not have enough funds. Then later adding more funds, will splice "up" one by one. No, it will cost you more, because splicing also involve fees. So in the end you will pay more. But that doesn't mean splicing is not good. It is good, because you will "grow" a single channel instead of having multiple small channels. Keep in mind that once you start spending from that channel, is not splicing "down", reducing the size. Is only reducing the outbound liquidity.

Maritime Law:

Maritime Law refers to the regulations and policies that crew members are obligated to follow, and are considered the law of that ship.

The law of the ship, requiring member-SHIP, would cover hazards of ocean travel or personal injuries sustained while working on the vessel.

These laws would stipulate the duties and obligations of the crew and detail the benefits the captain would provide. Although workers’ rights are covered under Maritime Law, they are at the discretion of the captain and are in fact privileges.

In layman’s terms, Maritime Law refers to the laws on board ship, whereas Admiralty Law has the power to create said laws, and control all ships.

Meaning, citizens within the Plebetoral system have been conditioned to accept “Maritime Law” as doctrine, and are treated as “crewmen” aboard a “citizen-ship”, who must follow orders issued by the Captain governed by a group of authoritarian corporate people who have claimed “Admiralty Status”.
