I'm planning on having my own school curriculum for homeschooling my kids.

A Free And Open Source Homeschooling Curriculum Framework

Specially designed and prepared for my kids, but could be applied elsewhere, particularly for homeschooling. I have planned it to be free and open source.

Congrats on taking this path. It is a great investment for you and your kid(s)' future. I've been involved in education somehow, one of the latest findings is Alpha school for the Alpha gen! You can read more here #999543
I'm a bit skeptical on the use of Ai for education, probably because it still too early.
The curriculum it's great! Have you thought about structuring in a way that others can contribute too? Maybe upload it on GitHub or any other platform that allows collaboration so it will be easier to comment specific sections, add resources and add new sections.
One of the skills I think is imprescriptible and at the core is curiosity, the art of asking questions (to humans first, not prompts for Ai - or maybe both!) and consequently problem solving. How you'd incentivize your kid(s) to master this skill?

Most definitely. That's the best way.
How you'd incentivize your kid(s) to master this skill?
Since there are many ways of reinforcement, I believe learner's best quality work will be incentivized with equivalent amount of sats depending on the quality

I was always in favor of homeschool. I never received it myself, but I wish I had it. My kids (I don't have any, yet) will be it'll be a whole lot of fun. I want to make sure I can dedicate all of my time to doing that.
reply
As you probably know we homeschool both our kids. I have bookmarked this. I will review it more thoroughly tomorrow and give you my thoughts.

What sort of reading program are you going to apply? If I may make a suggestion: find the program that Linda Taylor Schrok uses. You can find her on Lewrockwell.com.

I'll check Linda Taylor. Thank you for suggesting it.

You’re welcome. She has an interesting observation about reading and spelling and why many schools are failing to teach it properly. This is where I found her: https://www.lewrockwell.com/?s=Linda+Taylor Her name is Linda Schrock Taylor. Sorry about the error.

I love the idea and I think this type of thing can really catch on if a community values the quality of their education.
Most places where I have lived, unfortunately they don't. But that doesn't mean it won't catch on thereabouts eventually.
What are the attitudes toward mainstream education in Malawi?
reply
What are the attitudes toward mainstream education in Malawi?
In Malawi, mainstream education is held in high esteem. For many, it represents a path out of poverty, a gateway to employment, and a symbol of success. Parents and guardians make great sacrifices to ensure their children attend school, with the hope that one day, they will secure formal jobs and uplift their families. However, this hope, rests on a broken promise. The mainstream education system in Malawi is outdated, misaligned with the real needs of the people, and incapable of fostering true freedom and sovereignty. It is time we begin to embrace homeschooling as a meaningful alternative.
Mainstream education is valued very much in Malawi, despite all the flaws it has. Here are some of the reasons I think, it's high time we embraced homeschooling
In government schools, children are only taught what the government wants them to learn.
  • Pushes children through a system that rewards conformity and punishes uniqueness. Every child is expected to achieve the same outcomes, regardless of their interests, talents, or natural inclinations.
  • Rarely teaches entrepreneurship. Students graduate without knowing how to start a small business, manage income, or think critically about money.
We live in a digital age, yet the education system in Malawi is stuck in the past. Students are not taught about freedom technologies like Bitcoin, which offer powerful tools for economic independence and resistance to corruption.
Homeschooling is not about rejecting education—it is about reclaiming it. It is about restoring the family’s role in shaping a child’s future. It is about building a generation that values freedom, creativity, self-reliance, and community
