People also need to take into account other variables when thinking critically about the growth, adoption and scaling of technology, in general, not just about Bitcoin. The early internet was not “intended” to be what it has become to us all today, but it still went that direction nonetheless. We’re still very much in the early adopters phase of the bell curve of adoption for Bitcoin. Check out Geoffrey Moore’s “Crossing the Chasm” if you’re unfamiliar with the technology adoption cycle. Bitcoin may still yet become a MoE (or something else entirely) as we navigate the various adoption phases.
I will probably spin up LND and use it as well. However, my application requires the use of BOLT12 which LND does not yet support natively. Any idea when they will develop support for BOLT12?
It’s the parts and places on the internet where things are said and done that are explosive and inflammatory… and no one ever hears about it or even knows about it… until they do.
Interesting. I would love to see a renaissance in nuclear energy. We have come a long way since the 70s and 80s, technologically speaking.
While AI is an “obvious” use case to consider nuclear - how is Bitcoin not? Why not combine the two initiatives into one? Perhaps it is time for the Bitcoin lobbyists and powers that be start talking to their counterparts in the nuclear power realm…
As Lyn Alden said so eloquently recently… there’s no stopping this train. Stack sats, stay humble and try not to let the poor decisions of others drive you to also make poor decisions in your own life.
Value is in the eye of the beholder… if we use the idea of value to be subjective to each persons unique situation, then I see it this way:
The desire to use a tool/solution/approach because it adds value relative to your incumbent solution and is voluntary and a low bar to switch is one thing.
The need to use a new tool relative to your incumbent solution due to necessity is another thing entirely.
The gap between these two approaches is very wide at the moment, and until they start to converge adoption will remain low, since we are still in the voluntary realm.
Once the paradigm begins to shift to the necessity realm - we will be ready.
Agreed. At what point does “the average person” become affected by all this overreach and oppression of rights? I think the same is for BTC to some extent; the average person does not need it, therefore they do not learn about it or pursue it.
If we wait for the average person to be meaningfully impacted we may be too late by then. I hope this is not the case, though.
I think they both set the bar for fantasy epic and sci-fi epic, respectfully. Too many points to make and it’s late… However, I’ll expand the question to where things are today: new Star Wars movies post Disney acquisition or Rings of Power per Amazon…..
